I just got my special edition tin of MST3K vs Gamera today from Amazon. Is it just me, or did anyone else kiss the tin before they opened it?

I got mine yesterday. Watched the features, but watching all the Gameras in arow is a headache waiting to happen.

I just got mine today. I've watched the special features, which were pretty alright. The Chiodo Brother's feature felt more like filler than anything. Torgo, I agree, which is why I'm jumping around with watching the movies. I'm watching Zigra right now and plan on doing one more before I call it quits. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with a friend and we're going to watch one or two more. You need to pace yourself

Mine arrived about 2 hours ago.. I didn't kiss the box but I did hold it close to my chest and gave it a tight squeeze. Then I did just a bit of a happy dance in my living room.. I will watch a couple tonight for sure...

I got this at Comic-Con; preview night July 20. Today is a sad day for me; I am no longer special. Damn all of you.
I have two more discs to watch. Do you all mind holding off till I'm finished?
Also, if any of you dig up K01-K03, do me a favor and send them to me before you start trading them. It's a special feeling, being special.

I was going to start a thread on this set, but I'll just piggyback on this one. 'Zon says I'll be getting it tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'll get time to see it -I'm kind of backlogged and tuckered- but hopefully I can get to a couple of them through the week.
So is kissing the tin like kissing the Blarney Stone, where you are bestowed with a special gift?

I recieved my copy in the mail today from Amazon.com.
The tin is much nicer than the one for the 20th Anniversary set.
Going to check out some of the extras tonight, then start watching them by the weekend.

Watching 312 now. Comparing to re-taped version I have on my comp. Like a lot of other Shout! releases, the top and bottom bits are cut off. Not a huge amount, but somewhat noticable in the host segments.

I don't know if it matters but the Gamera Set has officially put MST3K releases into the half way range. 50% of the series has been released to dvd. We're Halfway there. ;D ;D

I watched the first disc last night, excellent. Love the menu animation, with Servo and Crow battling Gamera. I enjoyed the special feature witht he MST crew discussing their intertwined history.
Only the second time I've seen this episode, but on their own, I don't really enjoy the early Gamera movies. The later ones, once their even campier appeal to me, so I figure as I get further into the set, they should progressively get better.
