I'm not trying to bash the Cards (this time, anyway). I'm just saying LaRussa is one of the most militant managers about the rule book. It's odd that Mr. Suspicious wouldn't go after this. But the quote of the day goes to Dusty Baker: "If the other team doesn't care, it isn't cheating." Truly an ethicist for our times. He is, after all, a "player's coach." Is that a synonym for "enabler"?

Since it's going to rain in St. Loius again today, and since it looks like they'll be going back to Detroit sometime in mid-November (should the Tigers win one in STL), and since virtually no one is watching the Series, let's just call it a tie. It's the Selig thing to do.
People in St. Louis shouldn't mind too much. After all, his name is Bud.

The Cards are only 1 win away. Another fantastic game tonight. I hated to see the Tigers' reliever screw up the throw to first, but that's baseball.

One more win, please! I remember 1985 and I've read about 1968 so it's not a sure thing, but I'm feeling pretty good right now

I remember 1982, 1985, and 1987. IF the Cards win, and they have two outs in the top of the 9th right now, this place is going to go nuts, and they do.

Weaver pitched out of his mind tonight. I'm sure Yankees fans who were watching (the few that probably were : were wondering how the hell that happened. Congratulations to St. Louis. They deserved to win and it's always good to see a town that appreciates it's team get the championship. Matt

Congratulations St. Louis. I mean I wish the Tigers had won but at least the winner wasn't from New York.

I went out tonight, figuring if the Cardinals were going to win it, at least I didn't have to watch them do it.
It seems to me that Detroit gave it away. I mean, the Cardinals aren't exactly a powerhouse team.
But that's why they play, and if someone decides to lose, that means someone has to win.
Yes, I'm bitter. What of it?
(But seriously, congrats to civlyzed & other miscellaneous Cardinal fans.)

Thank you St Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers for making it the worst World Series I have ever seen.

Bah. The only good thing about this World Series is that it's gonna make Cubs fans feel even worse. First, their cross town rivals win last year. This year, their divisional rivals win...in a season that was just plain bad for them. Gotta love it.
