MST3K Location 34: Godzilla vs Megalon (On behalf of the home’s owner, Brett has asked that the exact location of the home not be revealed.) Don't blame them. I wouldn't want those pesky Seatopians breaking in and trashing the place again either.

Loran, may I post my Lobster House/Revenge of the Creature entry here, or would you rather I make my own thread?

Thanks! Here's a before-and-after entry for Revenge of the Creature. Our heroes (whose names I'm not bothering to look up) dance, canoodle, and are attacked by the Creature at a restaurant named Lobster House. This was a real restaurant on the south bank of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. I am constantly having to correct local historical references to parts of "Creature From the Black Lagoon" being filmed in Jacksonville. No, dummies, it was the sequel. The extras dancing in the restaurant were Prudential employees. The hot lights used during filming set off the fire sprinkler system, dousing everyone with rusty water that ruined their clothes. THEIR clothes, not the production's. That building in the background now houses insurance giant Aetna. Prudential built new digs a couple of blocks away. Arrow is the point-of-view of the camera in the movie, facing the railing where the characters kiss and the Creature climbs up. Couldn't get a modern picture from the same angle, so I put the arrow in the same place. The box is where Lobster House used to be. It burned down in 1962. It was on a dock over the river, and all of that is gone. Many years later, a new restaurant was built on dry land right next door. Its most recent name is River City Brewing Co. The scene in the movie opens with a Jacksonville skyline view out the window of Lobster House. We're looking north across the St. Johns River. More or less the same view, perhaps 100 feet to the east, at River City Brewing. There isn't much in common with the 1955 view. Jackonville likes to tear down perfectly good classic buildings as part of grandiose revitalization plans that never come to pass, leaving surface parking lots behind.

Did I miss something or did loran1958 delete his account and pull his posts? It's his prerogative, of course, but I enjoyed the thread and it added something unique to the board.

Well..... That's very unfortunate.

That is the case, unfortunately. A very enjoyable thread I was looking forward to seeing continue indefinitely.

He deleted the Twitter account he was using for this project, too. Huh.

Damn. Wish the posts could have remained.
Maybe he trespassed on one too many abandoned lots?

Man, he magically vanished so soon. All I can ask is "What happened?' and "How will we ever find out about the filming locations of Future War now?"

Well, that's weird. I was really enjoying this thread. Erasing all traces of yourself from a forum and social media is a tad ominous. What the heck happened?

That's too bad. A repeat of what happened on the FB group where he initially did these. One negative post (which turned out not to be intended that way, just badly worded) and off he went.
I don't know what happened this time or why he has a hair-trigger, but I wish him well.

That's unfortunate. I don't think anyone said anything negative here? At least not in public?
And pardon my curiosity, but where is your cool Robby the Robot avatar from? Can't recall his antennas looking like that in anything I've seen.

Maybe he's just really, really sensitive to critisism or possibly has bipolar disorder? I dunno. Whatever the case, he's gone and there's nothing we can do to fix that.

And pardon my curiosity, but where is your cool Robby the Robot avatar from? Can't recall his antennas looking like that in anything I've seen. According to my Google image search, it's a pic from an episode of the Saturday morning TV Series Ark II, where Robby was a guest star.
