So, it's looking like I'll be going for the state park too. Taylor actually likes the idea of roadtripping and camping in the VW Bus! Yesss!
I'll still be able to help with the carpooling. Oh, and when I mentioned compensation earlier, I meant "somebody buy me a beer, a brandy, or a brownie".
I don't need to go to any kinds of sports events. But don't let me deter anyone from that idea. If it gets voted in, I'd either go for the heck of it or use the time to go record shopping.
I'll put in my vote for tripping in the mountains.
Natural history is good. Museums are good.
What would a "caravan into the city" entail? Does that mean record shopping? Or is that a booze cruise?
And, wow, never heard of Casa Bonita before, but it looks like it blows Chuck E. Cheese out of the water.

For those of you not familiar with Casa Bonita...
It is a tourist trap that the locals never go to unless they have friends in from out of town.
The food is subpar but passable.
The crowds on weekend evenings can be unbearable.
It is a huge indoor theme restaurant complete with cliff divers, mariachi bands, Black Bart's Cave, and a gift shop.
It is currently famous because it was featured in an episode of South Park (Cartman is a big fan of the restaurant), and many viewers didn't realize it's actually a real place.
It's cheesy, B-Grade, and fun in an ironic way. In short, it's perfect for us!
(But we'll have to go early or wait in line for two hours.)

haha! That too and almost any supercharged or bizarre variation on racing you can think of. Actually, Pikes Peak in CO and Riverside county in CA, along with Australia, are the only places where sidehacking is officially competed. All MST in-jokes about stereotypically white racing sport culture aside, the Peak, as I have been told, has nice camp grounds for BBQs and such. I stayed at a family friend's house over Thanksgiving break in Colorado Springs where the icy range was visible from looking out the front yard. Very beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to go up there myself. I'm unaware how difficult the drive is from Denver, though.

I am there, and I will consider ground transportation to be Dr. Z's trunk. RAD, you live in Austin? Seems like there are alot of us MSTies here in ATX. Mitchell, Mary Jo and I both live in Austin now. We love it here! I wish I lived in Austin... I live in smelly old Arlington.

I had a friend who worked at Casa Bonita. Sounds like a hoot. My KOL character would love the mariachi bands.

So Casa Bonita is a real place? OK. Well, I'm up for a cheesy evening in a real South Park local! Sounds like a hoot!
Natural History Museum is A#1 with me. I will be able to take 3 or 4 people when we go. I may pass on the Sports thing, but, put it on the schedule if you have people interested. If everybodies going, I can probably go as well.

Out of the activities listed so far, I would be interested in: - Denver Museum of Science & Nature
- mountain trip
- downtown trip
Caca Casa Bonita (ask about our reduced salmonella menu!)

Hey, not to spam this up too much, but is Denver gonna be thawed out by June?

From Mr Atari's description I'm skeptical about this Casa Bonita place. Trying to maneuver a large group around a crowded tourist trap might not be a good expenditure of time. In the past two Meets Friday night was the main scheduled dinner. We need a restaurant that takes reservations and it would be helpful to know if the will do individual checks. Not all places will do that for a large crowd but it's a lot easier than trying to divide up a large bill fairly.
I'm not interested in the Baseball game either. Going to a ball game is fun but it takes up a lot of time. I'd rather spend more time at the Natural History museum. I believe Denver has some great dinosaur stuff and I want to see as much as possible!
And let's not forget saving some time to watch some eps. Watching MST with a group is a unique experience I think. One of the reasons I go is watch MST with people I've talked to about it all this time.

I think lots of these activities can be optional. We could schedule two or three full group things, like Friday dinner and an MST viewing. Everything else could be up to the individual. Some people can go to the museum while others go to a ballgame. With multiple cars, we shouldn't have too many restrictions.
Perhaps Casa Bonita can be a Saturday dinner option for those who are interested.

So then we'd still need to settle on a restaurant for the Friday "official" dinner.

If we make the Doubletree "MST3K headquarters" for the meetup, we could even have the dinner at the hotel resturant if we can't decide on any place else.
As far as going to a ballgame, I wouldn't mind going but it's not terribly important , I mean it's only the Rockies. Although I would like to see Pike's Peak. My parents lived there a long time ago, before I was a gleam in my daddy's eye.

The Doubletree sounds good.
As does the history museum. If seeing a Rockies game works out, fine, if not, that's fine also. Like Capt. Joe said, it's only the Rockies and with my luck, the Rockies would be playing the Cubs that weekend ;D

The Doubletree looks fine to me. Mountains and the natural history museum are my main interests. I'm indifferent to Casa Bonita, but will go along with the consensus. I'll be flying in, and haven't figured out if I can afford a rental car, but it's not likely. I'll probably take a shuttle or towncar from the airport to the hotel. I will gladly contribute to any and all who drive - gas ain't cheap. Does anyone want me to bring the Shatner DVD again? *runs for cover*
