I'm not opposed to driving - especially if it will help anybody- but an hour to/from site/meet-up seems extreme. I don't know the area, so I will trust in your foresight. Then I recommend this. It's about 5 minutes from the hotel I mentioned above. It's a state park, but it's pretty nice.

If that's your thing, there are a couple options right across the highway from this one. A Quality Inn, a Comfort Inn, and Extended Stay place, and I think one more. In my research, I saw that one person had reviewed the Quality Inn by mentioning holes in the sheets and bloodstains on the curtains. Is that white trash enough for you? For my money, I'd rather pay the extra 10 or 20 bucks a night and have less blood stains. But I get to sleep at home with my wife, so whatever y'all want. ;D I've stayed at a few Comfort and Quality Inns, and they're usually not THAT bad. If these particular ones are then yes, I would upgrade. I just think that an additional 20 to 40 bucks a night could go to beer money.

I knew someone was talking about beer. Seriously, the hotel in the suburbs works for me.

I knew someone was talking about beer. Speaking of, any good local pubs or hot spots to recommend, Mr. A?

Like the Double Tree so that gets my vote. However, I'm flexible. This is shaping up to be a great one!

Lower Downtown Denver (or LoDo) has a TON of happenin' bars.
From our proposed hotel, there are some restaurant/bars within a couple blocks. Of course, they are more of the suburban variety, but we shant have a shortage of watering holes.

Sounds good. I always like to scope the links so I can check the menu. Kildaire's last year was great for being able to eyeball their website. Casa Bonita definitely the big "dinner" for this time, right? Any other suggestions for other nights, Mr. A?

Pikes Peak is having their annual sidecar racing competition in the summer. Let's all get loaded and watch the sport of kings!

Doubletree looks fine with me too. They had several types of meeting rooms and a small amphitheater as well. And they had a couple of bars and a restuarant on the premises.
As far as what to do, Natural Museum of History sounds good. I'd also consider going to a Rockies game. Or maybe even an Avalanche game if they're still playing, although that's highly unlikely.

I'm all over the Natural Museum of History. I would place that high on the priority list.

It looks like the Doubletree works. It also means Change can stay close to us at the state park that's very close.
The weekend will go by very quickly, so we'll need some sort of consensus on the two or three activities we absolutely have to schedule. Everything else can work around those.
I think a mountain trip should be a definite.
And a planned caravan into the city at some point.
I'm also hearing a lot about Casa Bonita.
The Rockies play night games on Friday and Saturday and a day game on Sunday.
