So Cap isn't really back, they just have some jackass running around in a "Captain America Costume" with a knife, and gun.
Lame.

So it'll be like the one of the several dozen Green Lanterns...

I'd say closer to the Blue Beetle's various recreations.
This doesn't make up for the way Marvel allowed him to be killed at all, in my opinion. I mean, the least they could've done was give him a good death, or write a story that deserved a death in it.

So it'll be like the one of the several dozen Green Lanterns... That's about what I was thinking - aren't most superheroes in their who-knows-how-manyth incarnation by this point anyway?

Cap's had quite a few incarnations too. After Steve Rogers "died" in WWII, there were quite a few people who took up the mantle until he was resurrected in the sixties for the avengers. Don't even get me started on the number of times Wolverine's died.

Stephen Colbert is Captain America now. Marvel sent him the shield themselves. Accept it.

Once this bombs they'll bring back traditional cap sooner or later. Kinda lame actually that Marvel isn't even trying to do anything different. Batman, Superman, Punisher, and Green Lantern have all had essentially the same storyline. Original Hero dies, sales surge -> Replacement hero gets pushed by the company until sales drop -> Original Hero reappears, sales surge again.
Comic companies have such sick business practices and even sicker fans for falling for the same tricks over and over again.

There's only a few people in comics who stay dead:
- Everyone on Krypton - Batman's Parents - Peter Parker's Uncle Ben
Bucky and Jason Todd (the second Robin) used to be on that list, but since they brought back Todd as Red Hood and Bucky as Winter Soldier... eh... not so much.

There's only a few people in comics who stay dead: - Peter Parker's Uncle Ben I say bring back Uncle Ben! Maybe he secretly couldn't stand Aunt May so he faked his own death, ran off and made a fortune selling rice. Think how disillusioned Peter would be!
