I took a drive to a large body of water this weekend, but the route took me far out into the hinterlands. All I could get was local AM radio, and the station I was listening to was playing old songs from old movies. The guy breaks in and says that they're going to start doing songs that never had album or singles releases but that he likes. So he plays some stuff that is really boring, and I'm getting ready to change the station when suddenly I hear the opening strains to "Shine Your Love." I don't believe it (and I never really paid attention to the song much)...until the chorus starts. And then it's absolutely certain. This song is getting played on the radio.
I can tell at the end that he took it straight from a video (sound was awful anyway) because the applause starts and you hear her start to give her goodbye speech.
But my lord. Our world truly is a fallen world.

Girl in Gold Boots was a cool song! The "love" song he sings with his acoustic while leaning against the building at night truly sucked though.

Yeah, I don't know you guys. I kinda like to shine my love sometimes, y'know? I mean I didn't even know how to shine my love, until that song showed me how to. And I think I'm a happier man now that I know how to Shine Shine/ Shine My Love.
I don't know.

In my opinion, the song was bad, but not that bad in comparison with the acting in the actual movie.

"Hideous control now!"
How was "Shine . . . your love" on a Radio station? I think had would have been pretty cool. Perhaps (and let us hope) it was an MST3K homage. Are you sure you weren't listening to a bad disco station?
