hey does anyboady else have one or two episodes they find to be just unbearable?
I've never watched Boggy creek II or Blood waters of Dr. B all the way through because the movies have no plot at all.
It just doesn't matter how many riffs are made I can't watch.
Incredibly strange creatures is definitely up there too but not quite as bad because that foreign roomate guy is really funny.
I know this won't be popular but Manos is up there too.
So which one's do you think are unwatchable?

There isn't really an episode that I've found that I can't sit through. There are some that I don't like on occasion, but I can't say that I've never gone back to them and said, "Oh, this isn't so bad."
I guess the only episodes that I've never been that impressed with were Devil Fish and Boggy Creek II. Fantastic host segments, but I just couldn't sit through some of the movie segments. But even then, there are some great lines to be heard.
I can't remember The Creeping Terror. I know I've seen it two or three times, but I honestly can not remember seeing The Creeping Terror. I remember the host segments, some vague shots of vague people dancing (thus inspiring the music in the stereo host segment), and a carpet-thing crawling around a lot, but I honestly can't say that I recall that movie.

Let's just be grateful that we're allowed to pick and choose what experiments we watch. The Mads never gave the SOL that option.

I know this won't be popular but Manos is up there too. You are not alone... I watched Manos for the first time a couple of months ago. My brother and I went on holiday and took a stack of MST's to watch (most summer holidays are spent indoors thanks to our crappy British weather). Manos was the only episode where I've been tempted to switch off before the end. It just seemed so boring and unfunny. Watched it again a month later though and it was hilarious... ;D ;D ;D The only episode I can't bear to watch now is Sidehackers. A lot of people seem to love it but to me it's just a grubby, repulsive little film. Not even the MST treatment can redeem it.

I think the thing about Manos first timers are they are caught off guard by the sheer badness of the movie. I highly doubt Joel would have thought he would have ended up with something this bad when he started the show back in 88.
The riffing is very good, you just got to prepare yourself for the horror that is Manos.

I actually thought Manos would be worse...but I don't know how that can be possible. The episodes I can't stand are Monster-a-Go-Go and the Unearthly. I wanted to rip my hair out over those.

Yeah I struggle to get through the Unearthly too.
Which is kinda sad, the two shorts at the begining are terrific as are the host segments. But the movie just goes nowhere with sub par riffs.

Red Zone Cuba & Bat Woman annoy the ever loving heck out of me. I have such a tough time watching those, even with the guys in the seats. I can't imagin trying to wtch them unmisted.
Hamet's the only episode that I ever turned off from sheer bordom. It's not that I don't get the jokes (I studied Hamlet in high school) but that the movie is dry as toast and doesn't lend itself to the quick riffing I prefer.
Personally I feel it was a noble attempt but a bad choice for a movie - and once I watch Mikes intro, Hamy will go back in the box, unwatched for quite a spell. And that's the ONLY episode really, that I have had an impossible time getting through.

I'm one of the few who liked Hamlet.
I found the riffing witty, but not roll on the floor hillarious. Especially at the end during the sword fight.
It came down to, they boys were taking on bad Shakespear, yes, but they were still taking on Shakespear. What resulted was probably the best they could have done against any movie and I aplaud them for it.

I don't dislike The Unearthly. Crow's toast to Ted Kennedy always cracks me up for some reason.

Master Ninja I & II The Castle Of Fu-Manchu Being From Another Planet Alien From L.A These movies (and TV shows) are so pathetic I have a hard time with the eps. I agree about Red Zone Cuba also. That just beats you down. I also have a hard time watching Gamera episodes back to back. Small doses.

The Master Ninja eps are two of the two four movies I've seen on the show that I could easily take on alone. Ninjas are totally sweet.

I'm probably gonna get ripped a new one for this, but I must admit it: all of the "fantasy" films (Colossus & The Headhunters, The Magic Sword, Day The Earth Froze, Sword & The Dragon, Jack Frost, and to a lesser extent, the Hercules films) are a bit of a chore to sit through. The films themselves are so incomprehensible (and very annoying, with the ear-piercing dubbed voices) but its obvious that Joel/Mike & the bots are actually into the movie (even liking it!) and the riffing comes off as, well, lighter than usual (as opposed to other head-scratching messes such as Mighty Jack, Castle Of Fu Manchu, and the Coleman Francis trilogy.)
And yes, Hamlet is definately a yawner of an episode. Nothing against Mike and the bots, but Shakespeare in any format, be it play, book, or film, is sheer torture.
