NOTBB is an episode that's grown on me over time. I used to hate it. Now I watch it once in a while and enjoy it. Not my favorite episode by any means, but it's not bad any more.

I think NOTBB is the best of season 7.

Yup, I must agree, I loved the Blood Sausage, uh, err, Beast!
All those dumb blonde jokes are hysterical.
"It was big, like a bear!"
"Um, was it a Bear?" Tom says in that funny girl voice of his.

I tried watching Teenage Caveman again last night. I couldn't make it. The Catching Trouble short is hilarious, but the main feature is unbearable.
Here's a stream of consciousness retelling of my thoughts and feelings as I watched:
Optimistic. Hopeful. Courageous. Gradual disappointment. Boredom. Anger. Boredom. Rage. Boredom. Laugh. Anger. Punch. Pain. Boredom. What time is it? Sigh. Boredom. I can make it. Anger. Good Lord, make it stop. Only the second host segment!?! Rage. Shame. Regret.

Caveman I wasn't that hot for at first, or second as a matter of fact.
But I popped it in one night, I think I was looking for something in the short to add to my review or to verify something. I can't remember, but I had NO intention of forcing myself to watch that movie again.
But I was jotting down notes and the movie started and then while I'm writing I start laughing, and then I laugh some more, then I put down my pen and started watching it and had a good time and actually boosted the grade up to a B+!
Now who knows, maybe the neighbors were smoking something which wafted through my window and affected my mind. And the next time I watch I'll say to myself "What the %$#@! was I thinking" and drop the grade again.
But it's strange how MST does that sometimes.
Manos: I thought was average the first time I saw it, and didn't watch it again for about 2 years! It's grown on me with each viewing.
Giant Gilla Monster: I thought was fair initially, but it's become one I enjoy.
Beleive it or not I didn't laugh that much the first time I saw "Day the Earth Froze". It's now my favorite from season 4.
Then again, there's the other side of the coin, "Laserblast" bores me even after 4 or 5 viewings over the years and "Hellcats" has never been able to thrill me much.
"Weird, yeah I guess you could call it that. Weird" (name that stinger!)

I find myself always having trouble sitting through The Unearthly, It Lives By Night, Hamlet, Deathstalker and the Warriors From Hell, Sidehackers and Bloodlust. I LOVE MST3K, but those episodes are hard to sit through for me, because those movies are just awful and the riffing couldn't save it. I like the episodes where the movies are so bad, that they're funny or so bad, but for some reason, you still feel compell to watch it. These 6 movies, however, weren't so bad they were funny nor did they have the "Train Wreck" factor involved, so I was bored to tears watching the episodes.

I didn't care much for Deathsalker but I plan on giving it another look. I just don't like that genre of movie and that's a bad example of it anyway. And I agree Forrest, the sick Pearl thing is pretty bad. I find Pearl quite anoying in season 7 in general. and Dr F. is too often a whinnig ninny trying fpr her approval. I like Pearl in Sci Fi but not 7.

DieHard and phantom: YES, watch Deathstalker again. It is, in my opinion, one of the best of the Comedy Central years, period.

OK ator, I sat through Deathstalker again this afternoon and we have a major disagreement on this one. I think one's opinion of the movie has a lot to do with what you think of an ep and I have nothing but disdain for this movie. It's soooo 80's. The riffing has some chuckles and a few good laughs but not enough to redeem this ep. At one point mike says"This is one of the most ambitiously bad movies we've ever done". Yeah, pretty close.

Yeah, I know how it is. I didn't find Manos funny, nor do I think that The Final Sacrifice is the funniest thing ever. So yeah, it's cool that you didn't like it. Sorry to make you waste 90 minutes.

I think one's opinion of the movie has a lot to do with what you think of an ep and I have nothing but disdain for this movie. I don't know if that is universally true. I have nothing for disdain for "Monster A-Go-Go" but it's still one of my favorites. Also have never been a fan of sword and sorcery, but Deathstalker and Cave Dwellers both rank high, simply because I laugh a lot. And I loathe Coleman Francis with a passion, but again, because of the work M&TB do, "Beast of Yucca Flats" makes me laugh really hard. It's one of my top 3 favorite experiments. If the BBI makes me laugh so hard I pee my pants, I can tolerate ANY movie to throw down my way.

Yeah, that's true MightyJack, it's not always the case. But I have noticed a lot of opinion on this board of people not liking an ep just due to the movie. It all varies though.

I agree, It can be a factor with me, like Red Zone Cuba. But I think that's because it isn't (again for me) their strongest job of riffing -there are good jokes, but I don't barrell laugh frequently like I do with Yucca Flats- so thats an example of where the movie kind of swallows up the fun.
