In the final episode, Diabolik, Crow is afraid of going to earth because of among other things, traffic accidents.
This is a reference to a season three episode, Gamera vs. Guiron when a young kid wishes to go to another planet because unlike Earth, they surely wouldn't have "war & traffic accidents" Such an odd fear!
What other obscure references can you guys think of from one episode of MST3k to the next? Obviously Trumpy, and Torgo got mentioned years later, but what funny occurances can you think of? I'm almost positive they mentioned "Maccen", the name of the old Doctor from Prince of Space in a later episode.

The traffic accidents thing could also have something to do with the crazy, ultra-violent, short "Last Clear Chance". We all know this as the one where the impish officer of death shocks and destroys the friendly farmer family with his ghoulish visit to talk on gruesome, well, traffic accidents.
I'm pretty sure this invoked Crow's fear as well,
Servo

"I LIKE coffee"-- in reference to Skydivers.
The whole Coily/waffle thing is rather confusing. Why reference a short that hasn't been shown on your show before (until the next to last episode).

My favorite Torgo riff is "The Master won't like it" in a woman's Torgo voice as Tony Cardoza and gang see Chastain's wife staring moodily out the window in Red Zone Cuba.
Anyway, I like "I'm dying in a rush!" most often said by Mike, and first said by the sleazy guy in Kitten With a Whip. "Time for go to bed!" is another one I like.
But the repeated riffs can backfire on you. I was dying to see Catalina Caper because of the numerous times it was referenced. I got it from Rhino this year, and It's funny, but not so memorably funny as to rate the amount of referencing.

It's one of my favs. I love the "white people" jokes.

"The loss of any war worker through a twaffic accident mans a definite setback to our war pwogwam." Any Comedy Central episodes featuring an airport that came after San Francisco International would normally have a "That nosewheel feels mushy." The Incredible Melting Man has refs to Brute Man ("Whats the matter, doncha like it?") and Deathstalker ("you always were good judge of men Deathstalker"). Laserblast had a "leave the bronx" riff in it too.

Speaking of airplanes, hey that segue actually worked for once! I always liked it when Tom would do his " Da da da da, Da da da da daa" bit from The Starfighters. Also poopie suits again turned up in The Deadly Mantis. Speaking of which, I was watching it last night and noticed a weird reference. Deadly Mantis is episode 804 and when they show the bank of phones Tom intones, "Phone races!" which immediately made me think of Century 21 Calling, but that's from season 9. It was a Waffles-esque moment.

The Posture Pals short was referenced in Phantom Planet
Mitchell was referenced several times all the way to Final Justice
the "ISO 19000 certified" line was used a lot in the later part of season 8
