What's yours?
Here are some options-
50s Black and White sci-fi stuff
Japanese monster films (thank you very much, Sandy Frank)
Sword and Sorcery/Renaissance Fest travesties
Post-apocalyptic wastelands
Campy teenage drive-in fodder
Spy/Secret Agent flicks
For me, while Gamera will always hold a special place in my heart, I'm a child of the 80s. So any of the movies made in the last 25 years is a blast for me to see riffed. Be it a bad Mad Max rip-off, or failed attempt at monster transformation horror, I know I'm going to enjoy the episode even if the riffing is weak.

I'am going to have to agree with you. Low budget 80s and 90s films are my favorite kind of movies that I like to see riffed.

My favorite genre is B&W horror/scifi. I have enjoyed watching those movies my whole life, even without MST3K.
However, my favorite episodes are the goofy, crazy movies, regardless of genre, like Jack Frost, Overdrawn, Manos, Hobgoblins, Puma Man, Santa Claus, Space Mutiny. I don't know if goofy is a genre, though.
2nd place is the troubled teen drama. I like coming-of-age stories, even if they're bad.

For me it's a toss up between 50's B/W Sci Fi and Japanese monster films...
"I don't care!"

I could watch most Gamera films without the riffing and still laugh...I can't think of many other MSTed flicks that fall in that category.
Age would be a big factor in anyone's fave category (save for 19 year old hipsters who rent old 'campy' 50s beatnik flicks or some nerds that are into everything Japanese...I kid)...I mean, I can't seem to pick one because I think that they've succeeded and failed with films from every genre. I'm no good at picking favorites. I'd want them to do em all, hit or miss.
That said, the ones I most relate to (this is why I mentioned age before) and ones that are most striking for me are the late 70s-90s films that they riffed. I think it's obvious why; they lend themselves to jokes that spoof MY generation.
Outside that, I love the B&W B-movie drive-in monster flicks the most, on average.

Monster movies, in general, and Japanese ones of Americans Although I do like the campy teen movies, especially where the teenagers are all 30 years old.

I don't know if I have a favorite among the MSTed movie world? Hmm, I do enjoy the Jack Frosts and the Santa Clauses but I don't know if I'd ever watch them without Mike, Joel and the Bots.
Generally in film I like a good suspense/mystery, but did they cover any good mysteries?

Generally in film I like a good suspense/mystery, but did they cover any good mysteries? All three Coleman Francis movies are one big mystery to me.

I'am going to have to agree with you. Low budget 80s and 90s films are my favorite kind of movies that I like to see riffed. Yeah, throw in cheesy ass 70's movies and that covers it. The music references in these just really get me. I'm also a big fan of all the shorts. They're just so funny to me. A fav from "Here Comes the Circus" "Here comes the Devil!!!"-Crow I laugh and laugh every time I hear that. Servo
