I need to get these Santa eps on my next order so I can add to the debate of whether it sucks or not. They seem to be popular. I don't know if it's a debate per se. It's just phantom, the old board curmudgeon, being curmudgeonly. I like S.C. Conquers the Martians a lot more than the other Santa Claus. Although the latter has Lupita, who rivals Nastenka from Jack Frost as the most adorable character ever in a MST episode. Come to think of it, that would be a good "Battle in the MST".#nosmileys

Why doesn't that surprise me? But seriously... It is facinating the very wide views we hold. "Jack Frost" is my favorite but a guy at work just hates it. The movie freaks him out too much I guess. I love all the Russo-Finnish Sword-Busters! They are totally wierd and fun to watch! They are the episodes I watch over and over.

It's the better of the two, in my opinon. The other one is, well, strange and has creepy reindeer.(See other posts on this subject on this forum) I guess "Santa Claus" gets the bow for just plain wierdness where Santa Claus gets my vote for the most laughs. I am prejudiced because this was the first episode of MST3K I ever saw and will ever be one of my favorites because of that.

The poster above me raised a good point. I have to believe that most MSTies, besides for having favorite episodes just because they're hilarious, have favorites for sentimental reason. Their first episode.
MY first episode was The Touch of Satan. It got me hooked RIGHT away. And I think the winning line for me that made me tune in the next week was at the walnut ranch and the old guy says "I made it with my own peanush (peanuts)" so uncomprehendably, and Crow goes "I sure hope he said peanuts". I havn't seen this episode in a while, but this is one of the reasons I'm excited about getting Box set 5.
It will always be special to me.

They're just fun to watch and generally the colors and scenery in the movies themselves are nice and bright to watch. The riffs are often light and super-funny. Servo

I love the 80's and 90's era films they do. I just love those two decades!

It's a good point about "sentimental" episodes. I really like "Phantom Planet", but mainly because it's one of the first (if not THE first) episodes I saw back when I first finally got the Sci-Fi channel so that I could watch MST3K.
I think my first was The Movie, come to think of it....

I also agree with the sentimental episodes thing. Even though Lost Continent gets a lot of flack and it may not be the best episode, it’s the first one I saw and it’s my favorite.

Ther oughtta just be some definitive "Best Of" polls, or something. the Info club should set that up so that we can start saying, "This is the most popular episode" instead of "This is the best episode" when we introduce it to friends.
That's the worst thing about this show. Even if an episode is perfect to introduce people to with for some, it's horrible for others.

Boy I must be a cynic, I can't remember my first episode. But I have it narrowd down to 3 or 4 episodes that it could be.
I have more sentiment about "Jack Frost" because it was like, "This is my episode, this one speaks to me. The weird movie the clever riffing". The riff about Peter denying (??) because the c0ck is crowing over and over. I was delighted by how smart it all was.

Something i've learned about MSTies is that their favorite or most memorable episodes are usually their first.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I feel the way I do about Hercules Against the Moon Men and Fire Maiden of Outer Space. My first two eps and still two of my favs. I just find them super-hilarious still. Servo

Jesus told Peter that he would deny knowing him.
Peter protested loudly that he would never, EVER do such a thing.
Jesus told him that he would deny him 3 times before the c0ck crowed.
And during Christs trial some folks came up to Peter and asked him "Weren't you with that man Jesus?" and he denied it, 3 times.... and the c0ck crowed and he was reminded of Jesus' words and he wept.
So when the rooster crows and crows and crows during "Jack Frost". Servo says...
"Peter must be walking around denying everyone this morning!"
That's not the kind of joke you hear on a sit-com. It's clever and it spoke to me and it made me laugh sooo hard. One of those "I get this. This is my show" kind of moments.#nosmileys

Oh man, I read that part in the Bible and that joke flew right over my head! Wow, that is one hell of a smart joke.
