Am I the only one who hears these words with capital letters at the start of them on MST3K? I know, it's a pathetic, sad question...but does anyone else get the feeling that Mike and the bots treated it as sort of its own little world - the amazing world that *is* The Future! "Food courts, of The Future!" "So, aging lesbian nuns run The Future?" "Wall-mounted keyboards - it must be The Future!" "Hey, Servo, The Future looks like your room." "Hey, look, a lesbian! Of The Future!" Anybody? Anyone? I hate myself.

I kinda know what you're talking about. The reference is to the old movie shorts that talk about stuff of the future. Plus there used to be cartoons waaaaay back that made fun of those movie shorts...like "The House of Tomorrow" (an old MGM cartoon...one of my personal favorites.) They always had some way of humiliating the Mother In Law..like the door that had all the locks on it, or the medicine cabinet that had nothing but poison...
Sorry I went off topic...but yes, I do see what you are talking about...

"Hey look dead raccon of the future"-Mike from Design for Dreaming
Probably one of my favorite "FUTURE" riffs along with Time Chasers' "FOOD COURTS OF THE FUTURE"

That's sort of like in 524 where they say something like: "Captain Chunk Pylon ON THE MOON!"
I've always enjoyed those types of jokes.

The future will be great. We have the whole 'kids becoming gay agents' thing to look forward to.

I like the ones..."of the OOOOOLD west." Almost everything in my immediate surroundings has been referred to as, for example, "Dirty dishes of the OOOOOLD west."

Though not MST-related, I remember hearing a comedian say something to the effect that no matter what, if you talk about something you did - or could do, it always sounds better if it were done in Paris. But you need to use the French pronunciation. "Pah-ree"
I cleaned dishes for a living.....in Paris. I had really bad consitpation......in Paris.
Get it?
