The contest is over; thanks for playing, everyone! I'm glad that in the age of google, wikipedia, and the imdb, no one got a perfect score. Although a couple people came very close. (I would stake my MST collection that no one knew who Qotile was without some google help.) Every entry had at least 8 out of 10 correct. In the end, there was a tie, so after a random drawing by Mrs. Atari, the winner is.... goflyersCongrats! PM skyroniter with your 3 choices. See www.mst3kvideos.com for his list. But now, what the rest of you are waiting for... The answers: 1) What NBC Game show featured a round called the "Fame Game"? $ale of the Century2) What Saturday morning cartoon based on a video game featured the characters Wheels and Roadie? Pole Position3) What Atari 2600 game featured an enemy named "Qotile"? Yars' Revenge4) In the board game Trivial Pursuit, what were the original categories and what were there respective colors? Blue=Geography Pink=Entertainment Yellow=History Brown=Arts & Literature Green=Science and Nature Orange=Sports & Leisure5) What event occured on January 28, 1986? The Space Shuttle Challenger exploded.6) What artist had number 1 hits in six consecutive years (1980-1985), and what were the songs? Lionel Richie 1980- "Lady" (sung by Kenny Rogers) 1981- "Endless Love" 1982- "Truly" 1983- "All Night Long (All Night)" 1984- "Hello" 1985- "Say You, Say Me"
In 1985, he also hit #1 with "We Are The World", which he co-wrote with Michael Jackson.
A couple entries had Ronnie Milsap, who fit the bill if we were looking for Country charts.7) Who were the Bears playing when Walter Payton became the all-time rushing leader? New Orleans Saints8) What short-lived Elliott Gould sitcom featured a then-unknown George Clooney? "E/R" Not to be confused with "ER"9) In "Better Off Dead", what does Lane's mom get him for Christmas? What does she get his dad? Lane got TV Dinners. ("I remember how much you liked the chocolate nut brownie in this one.") His dad got an aardvark coat. ("It certainly is...warm")10) The episode of "Family Ties" when Alex's girlfriend leaves him spawned a number 1 hit. What was the song, and who performed it? "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters

Actually, the Qotile question was the only one I would have known without looking it up. In fact, my avatar should back me up on that statement. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to dig up the answers to the other 9 questions, so I didn't enter. Me, who was born in '71 and grew up in the 80s!

Damn I could've sworn that the garage door was the Christmas gift that Lane's mom got for his dad.

I hoped you would have known Qotile, KGB. You have one of my favorite avatars around.
And Chibodee, the garage door was the present Lane's dad got for his wife. He took her outside with her eyes covered to show her. Then Lane smashed through it due to his failed carbon monoxide suicide attempt.

Wait a sec, I knew the Space Shuttle one, too, and I think I could have guessed correctly on the Family Ties one (I just saw that episode a couple months ago). Oh well, if ifs, ands, and buts were candy and nuts...

I thought I had all the answers, but I forgot the #1 song Lionel Ritchie had in 1985...and I should had added "/" to "ER" to get that right. Darn. Well, it was a challenging quiz, and I hope I get lucky next time.
