I'm giving all my lovin' to "Blood Waters of Dr.Z." Why? Look at my name! Not only was this piece of poo on MST3K, but I live right amongst the locations where this film was shot. After seeing this movie, Marineland (The Return of the Creature as well, ep 801!), Switzerland (the town on the St.John's river, not the country) and Green Cove Springs became wonderful and exotic places to me. It's like living in the midst of a cheesy film set!

Bus Taker!
I thought this was the perfect film for them. It was really nice to see Joel and Frank again too.

Track of the MoonBeast. I can watch this one right after I watched it! "Not His Place - Fornicators!" "She gets up saying "What Happened?" a lot"

Souptaper. Very well riffed, has Joe Estevez, and Joel and Frank. Even if Joel didn't make it to the theater, just having those two back for one ep was nice.

Track of the Moonbeast. There are a few people around here who like it, but the general reaction I got before I saw it was more "meh". It floored me though, and I am in tears every time I watch it still. An unexpected favorite, maybe in my top 3.

Even though Soultakers and Future Wars are super A++ riffing, got to go with Squirm

Horrors of Spider Island gets my vote. All the episodes are very good, but flawed in some way. I guess I just enjoy the sexual innuendo riffs a lot.

Horrors of Spider Island....
Soultaker comes in second, but they both have about the same amount of laughs for me. The only difference is Horrors is very enjoyable movie...one of the best choices they ever made.
Don't get the votes for Future War though. While it does have laughs and is not a bad ep I've always felt it's attempted comedy (or I should just say an attempted bad film) and doesn't work as well as films that take themeselves more seriously. I mean it's too obvious the makers wanted to make a bad film. I like my bad authentic. Know what I mean?

Oh yeah, definitely. I've also read fanfics that were written specifically for MSTers to rip apart, and they're always so _phony_. And with movies...let's just say I enjoy "Robot Monster"'s badness more than the calculated horridness of "Hobgoblins".
However, since I'm a straight female and therefore the "enjoyableness" of Spider Island sort of passes me by (although I'll agree that it's fairly entertaining, "plot"-wise, as well), I voted for "Soultaker". And to prove that I'm not _just_ voting for it because of its old-school MSTie nostalgia value:
--I kind of like the plot of the movie--minus the Mary Sue-ness of the main character and that one creepy scene where it seems her mother is watching her undress--but anyway, the idea behind it is kinda freaky. And the jerk characters die while the even remotely likeable ones live. That's really rare, for these.
--It's got Joe Estevez as the Soultaker, especially funny considering his brother Martin Sheen played a Soul _Hunter_ on one of the Babylon 5 movies later on. What is this, the secondary family business? :P
--I don't mind the '80sness of this so much as with Hobgoblins or Zombie Nightmare. It's got, like, feathered hair and catchy music but without the teen-sleaze-movie factor. Not much, anyway.
--The main guy--our auteur's boyfriend--is kinda cute by my standards, and likeable. There. I said it and I'll say it again. Besides, if you're allowed to vote for Spider Island because of the hot _women_...well, sauce for the goose. ;)
--And the riffing was pretty good, of course. Can't believe I forgot to say that the first time. D'oh!

I have a straight female friend who watched Horror of SI just this weekend (unmstied I might add) and she loved it!

Well, I was thinking that you mainly liked it because of the sexual factor...but anyway. I haven't seen it unMSTed and I'm not sure what I would think...probably the helplessness of the women would grate on me a bit. I wouldn't have as violent a reaction to it as a lot of other MSTed movies I can think of, though.
On another subject, I never have understood the thing people do here of quoting the entirety of a post _right above theirs_. I mean, come on, we can read! We can scroll up! I could understand using the quote button for something that was several pages ago, but for Pete's sake, in cases like this...just reference, paraphrase, and type out, with your own hands, the name of the person you're replying to. Sheesh.
Sorry, but that over-use of the quote button--on this board and a couple others I know--has been bugging me for a while now... (shakes head)

Lots of good ones, but "Spider Island" is a all-time fave.
