Shout is starting to announce August releases (with the Teen Wolf movies), so keep a eye open next week.
If there isn't a announcement this time then we're probably not getting a summer set this year.

Honestly I wish I could get a copy of the new Merlin, and just that disc, since I already own the Rhino set... I just want the corrected color. The Rhino version is literally unwatchable for me.

Last time I checked they have Merlin for sale on several distribution platforms. It looked fine for me on Amazon.

I mean, worst comes to worst, you could get lucky and see if someone on ebay is selling the disc alone..... or buy the boxset, keep the Merlin disc and just sell the rest.

Hate to be a pessimist but it's looking less and less likely we're getting another MST release anytime soon. A shame too, because I would love to own "Girls Town", "The Deadly Bees", "Diabolik", "The Space Children", and "Quest of the Delta Knights".

I'd say a July/August release has been off the table for a while now, but if Shout cracks anybody at all, Volume 39 and even 40 are still a possibility. It just depends on whether anybody is playing ball, and it's likely Paramount will. It'll just be a waiting game with them.

I hear talk that Shout is negotiating with Paramount. Not just for MST movies but titles for Shout Select and Scream Factory too. That would have to be a pretty big deal, but they seem to have almost exhausted Universal and MGM's library. They're going to have to go after more material sooner or later if they want to keep sales up and Paramount is doing nothing with their catalog. I suppose it's all up to weather or not Paramount bites.

I figure shout really wants to ensure they have the Christmas release, so losing July isn't that big of a deal if it means getting a quality November set. Even if they get Paramount and Susan Hart, that's only 4 sets remaining. Two per year wouldn't be bad. Even if Susan doesn't go for it, that's almost 3 sets, and stretching it over two holiday seasons will help the bottom line.

I imagine they would be in heavy negotiations for their Friday the 13th films, because they know Scream editions would sell like gangbusters, Paramount gave up on blu-rays after the third movie, and Warner's sets are long since out of print. Oh yes, Shout would looooove to have access to Paramount's library.

If you search on Amazon hard enough, you can find all of Shout's August releases. Cinematic Titanic was the only MST3K related thing. Volume 6 re-issue will probably be in September then.
If Shout is working some stuff out with Paramount, we probably won't hear anything on Vol 39 until that deal is cleared. Hopefully they will try to reissue some non-volume episodes in the meantime. Maybe work out something with The Mads to record some live shows and release them to DVD. Maybe even reissue The Film Crew. They could also start buying streaming rights to some of the MGM titles, since they were able to do it with the Season 11 episodes. There's plenty of MST things Shout can make money from until they can get more episodes.
I wonder if Cinematic Titanic will have any sort of bonus incentive for ShoutFactory.com.

I think Trace and Bill would probably be more likely to release recorded riffs through Rifftrax, since they seem to have a more active relationship with them than Shout these days. Rifftrax sharing residuals from MST episode sales probably helped them get on solid terms.
Though I've heard that now that Shout owns the rights to the series they're sharing residuals as well, so they could be establishing a better relationship with the duo in the future. But lord knows what Trace and Frank will do, because they seem to thrive on independence right now.

I read that Shout Factory has been providing Trace and Frank MST3K DVDs to sell at their live shows. I really wouldn't be surprised if Shout has offered to record some of their shows, but I'm not sure if they would accept it. DVDs would probably be the only way I would ever get to see them though, I would hate if their own spin-riff couldn't be revisited long after it ended (like the two other CT live shows).
