Interesting. I'm moving this to Crow's Art, because I think that's where this belongs.

Wow. I have to say I'm impressed...and if you knew me, you'd know that that is saying a lot. If seen many an amateur painter's work on the web and in person and I've hated 99.9999% of it. This person is actually quite skillful. When I saw the subject header I thought it'd be just a bunch of goofy quasi-paintings of familiar fan art poses like "in the theatre" or "at the desk" or "movie sign"...but this person has done some pretty nice ode's to the show without being cliche.
I love the Gypsy portrait because Klee is my favorite artist of all time (you should read my essay, "Kleemation") and she really did a good job in capturing the style. Getting it perfect is impossible, but she pulls it off quite nicely for an 'amateur'. Actually for an 'amateur' it is quite amazing that she could do such a good job on capturing so many artists' styles.
That said, I think, suprisingly, that the Degalvanized (sic) Servo is actually my favorite. There is genius in how she painted Tom...the expression is just...really really great. I said, "suprisingly" because I've never been a huge fan of Degas. No doubt in part because of a traumatic experience when I was a child and my parents dragged me around the National Gallery Of Canada (in Ottawa)'s huge Degas exhibition...ugh (I wasn't very appreciative of art or long walks at 10 years old).
"Sunday in the park with Frank" is quite clever.
Cheers. #nosmileys#nosmileys#nosmileys

My favorite is Crow knocking out Mitchell because it reminds me of how Joe Don Baker said he would kick Best Brains' asses for making a fool of him and judging by that picture he couldn't hold up to that promise.

Whoa, that is pretty impressive. He has clearly devoted a lot of time and energy to create all that. He must really love the show.
One thing concerns me though. I hope he doesn't get into any kind of legal trouble selling those paintings. I know it's basically just fan art, but he's try to make money off of licensed characters and likenesses, that could be be bad news. But I guess parody is protected.....I'm no lawyer, what the hell do I know?
My favorites: Cezanntillite of Love, Sunday In The Park With Frank, Crow And Mitchell, Gamera At The Vet's, Paleobotic and Joellock, in no particular order.
Hell, I might even buy one, the prices are very reasonable.

I actually own a Crowcasso that I ordered that I proudly display in my living room. Very, very nice. I was not at all disappointed and the price was very good. I would recommend buying one to anyone.

Mike decending a staircase is a great fifth-dimensional represntation of the MST3K characters (a fifth-dimensional being would see us as a blurred line, seeing us in one 5th dimensional moment our entire life's movement.) Just a thought. I'm a theoretical physics nut.

I think these weren't even for sale, at first, because they contained copyrighted characters. Then a deal was signed with BBI and now they're priced to own. Good thing, too. These are pretty cool.

This is pretty hillarious!
The only problem I have with it is the waterbots painting. Aren't the bots not waterproof?

I hate to say this, but I don't think I approve of this kind of art. It didn't bother me at first, but I actually had to write a huge essay on the way that fine art is being used for commercial gain. We were to decide if various art pieces were used respectfully, or if they were simply exploited to make quick money. In my opinion, there is no way to take fine art and respectfully use it to plug a product.
Advertisers are digging up the masterpieces of great men who have been dead for hundreds of years and finding new ways to utilize these works for the sale of underpants and home pregnancy tests.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that these paintings are no different than any other kind of art exploitation. While I would never start a protest or anything like that, I simply cannot ethically allow myself to consider this art as an appropriate way to make money. I would feel completely differently if the artists had given permission for the use of their work, but in most (if not all) of these cases, that would be impossible.
