I voted for XVI too.
I think The Corpse Vanishes is my least favorite Season 1 epp so far, but the other three epps are excellent and the special features are equally excellent.

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. The film industry is fascinated with itself. Them: "Oh, poor us, we're such artistes, more sensitive than the little folk, and that's why we drug/screw around/hit our spouses and children, etc, poor us. Let's make yet another film about another one of us self-indulgent infantile jerks, isn't it all so very fascinating?" Me: "no." Just curious: what do you think of Sunset Boulevard?

Sanshiro Sugata
I didn't know Takashi Shimura was in Kurosawa's very first film.

I've been too busy to watch today, but I recorded the first 9 and a half hours of the marathon: his earliest films I haven't seen!
I think I'll watch Sanshiro Sugata in a moment!

I Live in Fear
Kurosawa flick about a man who's terrified of the prospect of nuclear war and wants nothing more than to take his wife, his children, his misstresses, and their children to Brazil (where fallout is less likely to spread to).
Pretty good, not one of his masterpieces (he made about a dozen of those), on the same level with Drunken Angel, I think.

All the Guilermo del Toro commentary tracks I've listened to (The Devil's Backbone, Blade II, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, and Hellboy II) are incredible.
He'll go into detail about the literary influence of a particular thing (getting scholarly at times), then explain a character's motivations in detail, then point out a bit of symbolism you may not have caught, and then just relate a hilarious anicdote (the man tells a good joke).
I really like how in Blade II he was a director for hire and the work is not as close to his heart as one of the pictures that are distinctly "his," so he isn't afraid of going the MST3K route during some scenes he doesn't like, breaking out in laughter during a corny piece of dialogue in particular.

It's the first episode. There is no lights and sound and button for Joel to slap during movie sign - the camera just jiggles a little.

There is an awesome Easter Egg on the Extras menu of The Beatniks. Highlight the word "Extras."
I'm not gonna spoil what it is, aside from the fact that it is wonderful

The Swords of Lankhmar by Fritz Leiber
This is the only full length Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser novel. All the other books are collections of short stories and novellas.

I'd like for them to play a little bit with the box art design.
Not too much, I like how the sets have been standardized - but maybe have an image behind the roman numerals: you know, an image that's not on the background (the starfield) but peers through the text as if the text were a window.
It would be great to have a character there, Tom or Crow, Mike or Joel. Hey! You could go through every character in the show. That would last years!

The Idiot
Kurosawa does Dostoyevsky, and I don't think the film really works. Kurosawa himself was dissapointed with it.

Got mine from Moviestop for the pretty good price of $39.99. Most retail stores have the sets at $50.
Anyway, haven't watched any episodes yet but I've checked out some extras: the Crow vs. Crow feature is excellent and it's always nice to see Joel, haven't watched the interview with the guy who played Rowsdower...
Oh, and the menus are the best yet! Tom and Crow do some really cute little skits and in Dr. Z they have audio from the episode so the CGI Tom and Crow talk to each other!

Doctor Who Series 5 will be airing on BBC America starting April 17.
That's two weeks after the UK airing, and since Australia will also premeir the new series on the date I suppose that's as soon as we could get it.
I'm gonna try real hard to avoid the spoilers!
