Wasn't there a couple of youtube videos a year or so ago with the top ten of these moments for Joel and for Mike? Those were hilarious, but I guess they got taken down.

Maybe Time Chasers, where Mike's brother is in the theater. Seems like he did that while he was bullying the bots, laughing at something they'd say but then telling them to shut up if they started laughing too.

I like to think that where ever Dr. Erhardt had been, he came back to secretly revive Dr. Forrester and that even now that even now they have a guy stranded in space watching bad movies.

Fu Manchu is one that I like more with each viewing. I wouldn't say I hated it at first but I certainly didn't like it, and my friend and I had plenty of debates over which was worse, Manos or Fu Manchu. (The debates ended when he finally saw Fu Manchu.) Odd since I seem to like Manos less with each viewing.
But it is funny, episodes just click sometimes. I've watched episodes that I had seen before that I thought were simply alright, and suddenly I'm rolling the entire 90 minutes. You can be in a sillier mood, maybe you've learned something since your last viewing so that you get more references (love that about the show) but yeah the level of enjoyment can swing wildly over the years.

It makes me feel lucky too. I had let the sets slide for a long, long time. Apparently I decided to start buying them at just the right time, as I was lucky enough to catch up on the ones I missed and get the ones that would turn out to have a short production run before they were gone.
I need to stop letting them slide again though, the last set I picked up was the 20th Anniversary tin.

Sounds like generic TV Theme Music created by the Brains for the skit itself. It's just a small loop that repeats. Sounds generically 70s, while also having a wackiness sound to it, too. Almost like action music for an episode of Vegas or A-Team, or Star Trek'ish battle/fight music. Sounds like a generic mash-up to me too. There's one part that sounds like Seinfeld, another short, quick part that sounds like What's Happening.

Is there some kind of catch to this site or what? Sounds like you could get some great bargains.

Thankfully, it is no longer with us. I hope we never see a revival of 'M.S.T.3.K.' except as an example to future generations how not to make comedy programmes. There is something hypocritical about a bunch of talentless people relentlessly sneering at the work of others. I hope he's never heard of Rifftrax or Cinematic Titanic. Or read his own review.

Good laughs. I really liked the last one. Reviewer starts off making fun of how stupid the fans are for thinking only they get certain jokes, then elaborates and for several paragraphs makes it clear that every single thing the show ever did flew right over his/her head.
The reviewer makes a good point about Mike though. If he wasn't so "stiff and awkward" maybe they wouldn't have canceled the show five and a half seasons after he took over.

Rename the show "IMMEHSTEATHREEKAY" because MST3K was too confining.

Rhino.com has it listed for $60. Kind of steep but I'm not sure you'll do any better at this point. Good luck.

One that cracks me up that I couldn't believe made it in the first time I caught it, is in Fu Manchu when the two guys are at the river, and another guy rides up on his bike, and the conversation goes something like: Guy: "Very kind of you to come." Joel: "Well I didn't mean to, but the new seat covers and all..." Tom: "Joel, NO!" I guess it's one of those that if you get it, it's not offensive, and if you don't get it there's no harm. As a "southern man" I might've gotten offended over the southern bashing in a couple of episodes except for the fact that they were far worse on their own home states over the entire run of the show. By making fun of themselves that way, when they turn it around on you, you feel more like part of the joke rather than the butt of the joke. By the way... we are going to do it again.

I just can't get into Cinematic Titanic no matter how hard I try. I comes off way too formulaic and stiff. I just don't feel like they are that into it. It's like they're there to do a job and go home. I just wish a CT Live show would come to Houston so I can see if it's better live as I have a feeling it will be. You are correct. The live show is light years better than the DVD's, and I really like the DVD's for the most part. You see a lot more chemistry and warmth and interaction between them at the live show, and I found that the DVD's don't seem so cold and scripted after seeing them live. Though on the other hand, it was hard to even make it through the Blood of the Vampires DVD because it was so much of a letdown compared to seeing it done live. Well then, let's hope that some of the comments people have made here and at the CT forum are right, and the next DVD, recorded after months of live shows to perfect the act, will reflect the same chemistry and warmth people love about the live shows. If the point of this delay is to flip-flop the schedule, so that a studio recording (hopefully not a recorded live show) is the final step with that movie before moving on to others, rather than the first step, I'm happy to wait since it should be a better product in the end.

I can imagine Joel submitting that, going about his business. Today he sits down at lunch with a sandwich, turns on his computer, sees the CT forum and/or his email going crazy and does a spit-take all over his computer because of one unclear line.
I'm still inclined to believe that the studio DVDs are finished, and anything we get from here will be a live performance track over the movie. Hopefully I'm wrong since that doesn't hold much appeal for me. But look, when it comes down to it I'm a fan of these guys (and gal), and I'm glad they've found an outlet that they seem to enjoy so much. Whatever they decide about DVDs and whatever form CT grows into, I hope the venture succeeds. I just also hope I'm able to remain a part of it with the studio DVDs.

Well, I think a lot of us suspected this was coming. I think the closest live show to me so far has been about a 6-8 hour drive one way. I don't have the time, money, or frankly inclination to make that kind of trip to go to one of these shows. To be honest even if it was in my own town I'm not sure I'd go. I'm just more of a DVD on my couch guy than super-crowded auditorium guy. Thumbs down.
