I normally don't mind because Rifftrax keeps me busy... but damn, this is even too long a wait for me. Especially when they gave us such a great one in the last release and left me hungering for more. I think they risk losing momentum if they don't release on a semi-regular basis. I hope sales would build with each new release. That's what worries me. I haven't bought the last couple (plan to, just haven't yet) so I've got no grounds to complain about lack of new movies. But I would think the DVDs would be the driving force behind the turnout of the live shows. The past couple of months there just hasn't seemed to be that much buzz about this thing, and I hope the project's not in trouble, but with no DVD releases and less interaction in the blogs you're left wondering.

Thanks for the confirmation. I love that episode, but the movie itself is almost Coleman Francis-esque the way the bad guy keeps getting over on everyone else.

I shouldn't have to ask this but for some reason I can't remember what episode I'm thinking of. It's a situation where the bad guys are doing whatever they're doing, and every time the good guys might escape or stop the plans or whatever's going on, random fate ALWAYS intervenes on the side of the bad guys. Finally Tom (or maybe Crow) gets frustrated and says something like "So this is how things work? Fate always favors evil people doing evil things, so do bad and the universe will make sure you'll succeed. Nope, too late, I've already learned it. It's in my memory." Joel (or maybe Mike) tries to convince him that's not true but he won't have it. Thumbing through the ACEG I think it might be the Painted Hills but I'm not totally sure.

The superior beings in The Human Duplicators. Mmm. Yep. Always a good idea to make your army out of porcelain. They can never be stopped!! Mwahaahaa.....oops. "Kolos! Your latest report says half our forces have been destroyed! What's going on down there?!" "Well, Johnny was playing catch in the living room again, and..."

Agree with skyroniter, but let us know the result. I know it must be hard trying to round up these sets now, I feel so lucky I was able to get them back when the availability was better.

Rhino.com still has everything but Volumes 9 and 10 listed. I don't know what kind of stock they have on those, maybe the links are outdated (though you can still add them to your cart.)

Sounds like something Eddie would do in Time Chasers but I don't remember for sure.

You know, the way this movie has becomes a "cult favorite" like they say, I'm just waiting for somebody to buy the rights to it to do either a sequel or remake. Would it really surprise anyone?
The story of the premier was cringe-worthy. It took a lot of guts to show up to that theater acting big-time for that movie.

I agree that they probably aren't looking to shop it into a series. I think they could possibly put it on air as a special at some point. Like Comedy Central Roasts, as far as I know there's no real schedule to them, just every now and then they have one. CT could reach a similar deal with a network to just once or twice a year air a Cinematic Titanic special, hopefully bring in new people who don't know what it is. It could reasonably fit on TBS, USA, Comedy Central, Spike, E!, VH1, or Bravo, and possibly others.

Guess I throw my two cents in and say I probably wouldn't bother with live DVDs either. As far as I'm concerned the only positive of the live shows is being a part of the group experience and seeing the performers, well, live. If I'm by myself in my office or living room I want to enjoy the actual content, not pretend I'm in a concert hall or something.
And I don't really think the comparisons to other stand-up acts quite works. A stand-up comedian is able to react to the crowd, pause before his next joke as long as it takes for the crowd noise to quiet. He doesn't have a movie that's going to keep running regardless, forcing him into a pace other than he or the audience dictates.
I get that the Titans probably enjoy the live shows 100x more than grinding it out by themselves in the studio, but what's most fun to perform isn't always what's most fun to watch. And as someone who is probably at least a six-hour drive from anywhere they'll ever consider doing a live show, if they abandon studio DVDs there probably won't be much there left for me.

I didn't know it either but it's an intro to the song "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince.

Just out of curiosity, do they still send out the single Gila Monster discs for people who have Vol. 10?

Did anyone else go to garage sales alot as a kid? When my brother and I were little, my mom and grandma would usually go on Friday or Saturday morning, and we'd go with them unless it was a Friday during school. I can't tell you the insane He-Man army we collected over time that we could never otherwise have afforded, because you'd find a sale with a box of them for like a quarter each or something, and we could each pick out two or three to get as long as we behaved that day. Or the fantastic number of Atari 2600 games we had, not to mention other random stuff (an old 2XL robot that played 8-track games comes to mind). We generally didn't get new toys unless it was birthday or Christmas, but you never knew what you'd find on a Saturday.
Let me stress this to any parents out there: unless you raise them that way, your kids probably won't care whether their toy is new or not. My brother and I couldn't have been happier battling for the fate of Eternia, so what if Man-At-Arms was missing one of his guns or something. If we were rich and could've gone to Toys R Us and emptied the shelf every weekend that would've been great. But we weren't and to us this was a pretty close second.
