Seems like 'The Singles Collection' isn't the end of Shout's plans for upcoming releases regarding old episodes as they've announced 'The Lost & Found Collection'.
This time around it seems to be comprised of episodes that Shout still has to rights to that were part of previous boxsets that are now discontinued.
Gotta admit that when I saw the title of this collection, for a brief moment I was hoping it would contain KTMA episodes.

Would love to attend one of these, but I live in the UK.
Still, awesome to hear Joel donning the red jumpsuit one last time.

So less episodes and the reason given is that people binge watch... and they're asking for more $$$ despite a deal with NETFLIX? Something about that rubs me the wrong way... Joel isn't asking for $$$ to fund this new season, that money is coming from Netflix.
What they are doing is offering people the chance to get involved with season 12 in a similar manner to what happened with season 11. Some fans wanted to see another crowd funding campaign but this isn't on the same scale compared to the season 11 campaign since there aren't nearly as many rewards this time around. This pledge drive is offering chance to be a producer, get one of the Tom or Crow puppets used in the season or get your name in a "special thanks" section during the credits. Besides that it's the chance to get a collector's boxset or digital copies of the episode, a new poster and a tote bag. My guess is that most of the funds that'll be generated by this new pledge drive will go towards the production of those items, so the cost of them will (hopefully) be lower than what the prices were for the items during the season 11 campaign when they were offered as add-ons.

Mine arrived this morning and I managed to get both my blu-ray set and the mystery gift too, which I thought wasn't going to happen after hearing so many people saying they didn't get their mystery gift. Did you select the Mystery Gift as the main reward and the BluRay as an add-on? People who didn't get the mystery gift were people who ordered it as the add-on (like me). Which by the way they still haven't resolved. Which is really bad. As an add-on it cost specifically $100 plus shipping. It's hard to say that that was part of the KickStarter fundraising, it was a payment for a specific item that they have yet to deliver. Although, I also have no need for the weird not-really-even-from-the-show figure that is the mystery gift, so sucks either way. If I recall correctly, I had selected it as the main reward and put the blu-ray set as the add-on. I wasn't aware that people who had put it as the main reward were getting it and those putting it as the add-on weren't. To me it just seemed like some were getting it and others weren't.

So has any international backer received their Blu-ray set yet? Still waiting on mine... Mine arrived this morning and I managed to get both my blu-ray set and the mystery gift too, which I thought wasn't going to happen after hearing so many people saying they didn't get their mystery gift.

At this point, it looks like they just canceled it. Which is frustrating because Shout themselves pretty much won't answer which KTMA's are "lost" at this point (though I think it is safe to say K03 is sadly one of them). If I recall correctly, some time ago (maaaaaybe 8 years or so?) Jim Mallon uploaded clips from K01, K02 and K03 on to the MST3K.com site and in order to have done that he needed to have made digital copies of them, so there is a very good chance that this digital copy of K03 still exists, providing that Jim didn't just make digital copies of just the clips.

Red Letter Media can send them one of their copies. What? And deprive those hack frauds of holding the world's largest Nukie VHS collection?

I hope season 12 features 'Nukie'.
I watched that movie once... What happened afterwards I can't really remember...

I just got my Kickstarter rewards. I purchased the Season 11 set, in both the Blu-ray and DVD formats. The Season 11 DVD is region locked to Region 1 (North America, i.e. US & Canada.) Can anyone confirm if the Blu-ray edition is region locked to Region A (For North America)? I don't have access to a PC Blu-ray drive right now to verify. The MST3k Kickstarter support team told me that the discs would be region-free in an e-mail last year. I assumed they would follow through, as they licensed these films for MST3k for Great Birtain, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, in addition to the US and Canada, given Netflix distributes the show in those territories. If these discs are region-locked for fans overseas, perhaps backers in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand will be receiving DVDs and Blu-ray sets with slightly different region coding. For Blu-ray, it would be Region B. For DVDs, it would be Region 2 for Europe, while DVDs in Australia and New Zealand are locked to Region 4. I'll have to wait until my rewards turn up (I'm in the UK) but I'll be able to tell you if the blu-ray set is region locked or not. I have two blu-ray players, one region B and another that is unlocked so I'll test it in the region locked one first.

Getting a little worried I'm not going to get my Blu Ray set. Did they send me the mystery gift by mistake? Now I'm wondering if I screwed up that survey last year. You can always go to backerkit and look up your survey to see if you chose the DVD/Blu-ray or went with the mystery gift. I ended up grabbing both because the lure of the mystery gift was too tempting but I also wanted the blu-ray set. Upon finding out what the mystery gift is (as I'm still waiting on my one as I live in the UK) I can say I'm not disappointed. Yeah it may only be a Pop Vinyl figure (and I don't really collect them apart from the odd one here and there) but to the people complaining about dropping $100 for it, you gotta remember WHY you dropped the money. Was it for the gift, or was it to bring the show back? Yeah it may not look like something that's worth $100 but you know what? Neither is the blu-ray set. I looked up my backerkit order form yesterday and found out that the $100 blu-ray set? Yeah it's actual value is $20 now, meaning the other $80 went towards funding the show. The level I pledged at was in part for all the awesome swag that was on offer, but also to get MST3K back. If you only look at how much you pledged/gave in regards to just getting the swag, well you were "ripped off" with everything. But let's not forget all the additional stuff that was offered for free, including the 2 KTMA episodes. And again, it may only be a Pop Vinyl, but after seeing the limited number of 2,900 that will be sent out, that means that is this all the more a rare piece of MST3K merchandise. I'll be gladly keeping mine!

I need this Five Doctors Rifftrax in my life, but I wouldn't be able to see the screenings, living in the UK and all. Kinda hoping they make it available to purchase on the site at a later date.

What I want to know is when are we going to get the long awaited Johnny Long Torso action figure?
Although come to think of it, an MST3K action figure series would be pretty cool. Each figure could come with parts to build sets, so Joel, Mike and Bots could come with parts to assemble the SoL bridge, while Mads could come with Deep 13 pieces.

Interesting tidbit that Joel dropped about there being a lost episode we never knew about and how Joel is unsure if it was a totally different movie used or just 'Invaders from the Deep' again.
But if it was a different movie, could it have been 'Thunderbirds to the Rescue'? I recall seeing a promo KTMA produced to announce the series and 'Thunderbirds to the Rescue' clips were used. The clips didn't have the theater seats at the bottom of the screen but then again the only MST3K clips used in it were from the 'The Green Slime' pitch pilot. Maybe that promo was produced before the recording of the first episode and KTMA wanted them to use the Thunderbirds movie first?

Well that's a damn shame. However, it seems like they are pushing back the KTMA disc rather than dropping it completely. At least this will give them more time to look for more KTMA material, be them the master tapes or maybe back ups.
