"Strange choice" "Not a strong episode" "I hate that one" Odd group of "fans" around here. I guess if Rhino had been able to release the show like most TV shows - in order a season at a time - that would have really pissed people off. And for the record, there are four episodes that aren't my favorites. Two of them are individual releases - and I own them. Wow. You own episodes that aren't your favorites. You're such a better fan than the rest of us. I'd say the best type of "fan" is someone who can admit when their favorite television show of all time has some weak episodes. Even BBI isn't fond of Season One episodes (although I prefer season one eps over season two eps). I spent hundreds of dollars buying the available episodes from Rhino on VHS. I then proceeded to RE-BUY the episodes as they came out on DVD, again spending hundreds of dollars. I've bought "Manos" THREE TIMES in various releases. I'll complain as much as a I damn well please when Rhino decides not to honor fans requests and put out shoddy merchandise.

complain away.
it just amuses me when Rhino is the only shot in hell that we're ever going to get real releases of these things, so it seems kind of pointless to spend so much energy being negative.
We as fans of MST3K are not ENTITLED to anything from Rhino.
edited to add: granted if we buy something from Rhino, it should be void of defects, but that is all that any company owes it's customers.

Women, cool. Rebels, have not seen it I a while. Any Ed Wood is welcome. Steckler must really need the money.
I'll buy.

And I wasn't trying to set myself up as "the better fan". Sorry if it came off that way. My point was that some of the posts I've seen - in this thread and others - really make me scratch my head when they name episode after episode that they have no use for at all. I've even read on here how Joel was a lousy host! It's almost like someone saying they're a Planet of the Apes fan....but only the animated series. All the rest of it they think is "weak". To me, that's liking an aspect of the show...but not a fan so much. I'll give you an example of one I own that I don't care for - Batwoman. I didn't like it when they did it. I don't think the movie was worth their time and talent. I bought it and I watch it and I enjoy them despite the movie. But when this new set comes out I'll ultimately watch each of those episodes five times to every one viewing of Batwoman. But I still want it because it's part of a show I love. And I didn't bitch about Batwoman coming out because 1) any MST3K is better than none, 2) I'm hoping Rhino will be able to release them all eventually anyway and 3) I'm sure there's someone out there who likes this more than I do and really wants it...so that's good. That's all I meant.

We as fans of MST3K are not ENTITLED to anything from Rhino. Not true and not true. Rhino is not the only shot in hell. There are other distribution companies that I'm sure would jump at the chance. As paying customers, we are ENTITLED to quality service. Picking episodes at random is not quality. Disregarding the fan poll is also not quality.

Dude, I have not seen ANY of these episodes! I'm happy as longs as there's no edits of any kind.
I'm surprised by the fact that we're getting a season 1 episode hasn't triggered more fanfare. The first time I heard the news, I was like "Whoo-Hoo! A season 1 episode! Happy Day!" Also, if you checkout Van's Liklihood for Rhino Releases" thread, you'll find that 104 and the season 8 one were classified as "unlikely". Somehow this gives me hope on future "unlikely" episodes. maybe even possibly, the Sandy Frank episodes.

You're only a paying customer by choice. You have not paid for this set yet, so how have you been wronged?

Some eps is better than nothing. I just wish Rhino listened to the fans more. And that they put The Giant Spider Invasion and Final Sacrifice on a future set!!

Sounds like a great set! Love women of the prehistoric planet! I'm suprised that they didn't put Robot Monster on this set!

My copy of 'Women of the Prehistoric Planet' is corrupted, so I'm delighted! I haven't seen any of these other than Prehistoric Planet before.

I like the set. We get explanations for "Hikeeba" and Ortega. We get Ed Wood, Tutelary Deity of Bad films. And we get Wild Rebels. I'll buy it.
Now All I need is a Puma Man release.
Edited because I'm a misspelling dummy.
