Well, at this point it's clear that either the damage has been done or it hasn't. And all we can do is wait and see. So let's change the subject. Good point. Can't wait for August 29th..

I was just looking at vol. 9 and I'm still noticing cool stuff. From the blow-up doll in one of the cars to the hypno-disk, I love the way that set looks. I hope they top it with Collection 10.
Any thoughts on cool art they could put in the interior and on the DVD's themselves?
I'm thinking probably a different dinosaur on each disc--but I think it might be cool if they used pics of plastic dinosaurs instead of "real" ones.

The Titra Studio dubs are great, it's a shame they couldn't be used for the recent DVDs. I agree totally and it's the number one reason I still watch my old, crappy, EP mode, pan and scan VHS tapes rather than buying shiny new DVDs. It's nostalgia in a way, but I really do think they did a good job on those films and the international dubs I've heard suck. (And sorry, subtitles just feel too pretentious for a Godzilla flick for me. Blasphemy, I know.)

Where's Wood on vol. 9? I see the creepy face, couples kissing, alien reflection, person with blow-up doll, killer robot. Is Ed Wood the guy on the radio beside VOL. 9?

(And sorry, subtitles just feel too pretentious for a Godzilla flick for me. Blasphemy, I know.) Since when is watching a film in it's original language pretentious? Having seen a few Zilla films in thier original Japanese, I must say that they flow a lot better than watching them in a dub.

Like I said, my opinion. *shrugs* You're allowed to have it, but the use of the word "pretentious" to describe watching any film in it's orignal language, let alone a Godzilla, seems like...to put it as delicatly as possible...a load. Why would it's original version be deemed too good for it? But, whatever. Watch any movie any way you want. I enjoy their original language, but some may have fond memories of watching these movies as a kid and the cheesy dub may be just a cherished.

I don't know about pretense, but I like watching Godzilla movies better when dubber, because I find the goofy dubbing helps with the whole atmosphere. Although now that my Japanese is actually practical, I might try it undubbed to see if the seriousness is even funnier.

Okay--I'll do a rundown of what I see in Collection 9: Front Cover: -There is a "scary face" in the rear view mirror on the top. The radio has some weird face on it I can't identify. -In the left-hand car with a DEEP 13 licensce plate, there is a couple making out. The bumper sticker on the car says, "OH, BITE ME. IT'S FUN." -In the other car, on the right, there is an alien face reflected in the glass, very faint. The tires say "MST3K ST" on them. Back Cover (Also the back of the inside folder) -I think the top poster on the tree behind the screen caps has images from TISCWSLABMUZ, but I'm not sure. -The middle poster is a wanted poster for the Wild Rebels gang. "For Kicks." -I can't really read the lower newspaper. I can see "Shocking Realism" and "ANOTHER SEX MANIAC MURDER". <EDIT: This is from the vhs box art for Sinister Urge>. Beside the newspaper is a post-it that says "To the," and I can't make out the rest. Something Masters? -At the very bottom is a picture that I'm guessing is Ed Wood from what Ren said. When you open up the inside folder (sorry, I don't know the right name): -Left side, with the pocket. Someone is making out with a blow-up doll. -Right Side. Through the back window you can see two glowing eyes. To me it looks like a robot. -I also like the long-exposure pictures of the amusement park here. Then of course you have the DVDs themselves. An ash tray for Women of the Prehistoric Planet, a speedometer for Wild Rebels, a birth control thingy for Sinistrer Urge, and the hypno-disc for TISCWSLABMUZ. Behind the DVDs is the only boring spot. Like I said, I love the packaging. It looks like a lot of fun went into it. If only that much work had gone into extras,
