Look... this is very upsetting, and I just want it to go away. Now, if this was a sequel to "Warrior of the Lost World", then we might have something, but Hobgoblins... Dear Lord, help us.

Let's get serious here: Rick Sloane makes low budget movies of the softcore porn and non-porn variety and is looking to make money; it seems basically to be his job, he seems to make a modest living out of it and he releases to a relatively small audience.
Conversely, Andy Warhol was wildly successful as a businessman and made terrible art, and Steven Spielburg makes buttloads of money releasing cinematic atrocities on a large and unsuspecting worldwide public that erodes their moral and aesthetic standards.
Not only do I enjoy watching Hobgoblins (with or without riffing) and await the sequel with baited breath, but if I did have a time machine I'd go back and stop Steven Spielburg from ever making films, not Rick Sloane.
Tell me truthfully what we need less of: bare boobs as in Vice Academy, or A.I. I think the choice here is clear.

AI may have been bad, but at least it wasn't painful to watch. The trailer to Hobgoblins 2 sucked all the happiness out of my life for a good 10 minutes after it was over. No bare breasts are worth sitting though that, especially when I can find painless porn on the internet.
Next time come up with a better argument than boobs are better than Spielberg. That doesn't fly.

A.I. is a beautiful fairy tale of a movie. Rick Sloane is...... I can't believe I'm even discussing this.

Bare boobs bore me. I see them all the time.
Corman makes bad movies, but makes them fun and even interesting. He seems to care even as he's trying to make money.
Sloane's movies are like the Faces of Death series. You only truly enjoy them if there's badness in you childhood.

I was bored out of my mind, and for some reason started thinking about this movie. I know it's been floating around for several years, so I decided to see if it ever got released. June 23, 2009Dare I pre-order it? For $15? Hell no. Maybe for 15 cents, but not that price. I might Netflix it if I'm preparing to get myself in the mood for suicide.

Wow, I had almost purged this thread from my memory. And I'm with you, Torgo. Hopefully Netflix has a few copies floating around, because I don't want to buy it and the sick part of me kind of wants to see it.

On a related note, Criterion Collection is planning to release a special three disc DVD of the original Hobgoblins. Hobgoblins 2 is done in the style of Grindhouse, it was made to look like a 1980s cheesy horror film, down to having its own fake trailers included." farm4.static.flickr.com/3385/3512559424_dc53ec17bc.jpg?v=0Rick Sloane: farm4.static.flickr.com/3555/3512560724_2024f0a0a3.jpg?v=0

Oh, sweeties. Are you sure you really meant it to look that way? Or it happened to come out like crap and you had to pretend like it was intended to be like that?

Man, there's something depressing that these movies are getting fully loaded special editions, considering how many great films have terrible bare bones DVD's (or haven't been released at all).
