I thought Servo's voice sounded like Josh's too. BTW the new actor is James Monroe.
I still can't get past the fact that Crow is basically speaking with Ned the Nanite's voice.
Crow's beak is coming out of his soapdish! It should be his neck!
The cartoon was WAY too talky. No real plot to speak of. I agree with Fank, it all sounded like a bad commercial ad for kayaks. No plots and too much talking is a general problem that most cartoons today suffer from.
And Jim Mallon certainly holds an honor of being one of few people to "direct" a cartoon with absolute zero cartoon-directing experience whatsoever.

The animation was cute and the web-design was pretty good.

So when is Cinematic Titanic launching?

Poor Crow.
I think the biggest disapointment here is that the "cool new merchandise" mentioned will probably be all from this new branding, with the new T-Shirt the prime example.
Too bad.

Well...it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. However, it had practically nothing to draw me in or make me want to watch it ever again. There was nothing funny enough in it to make me want to watch any more outside of the curiousity in the concept. If it was not two characters that I was already familiar with, I would not give it a second thought - even as a generic web animation, it was not funny at all. Compare that to the mad scientist animation released a few weeks back, with Mike, Kevin, and Bill. Even after watching that several times, I still literally laugh out loud at it.
Even with the host segments that I don't find amusing on MST, at least I recognize everyone and can see that it fits into a lull in a better show. This doesn't even have the "real" voices, and without that, it would need to be carried by a lot of humor. At this point, it isn't. I'll check out some more, but this one utterly failed in my mind.

Damn. I was really hoping this would be better. Damn. I didn't laugh once. I chuckled slightly when Gypsy popped up, but that's it.
And with the exception of the DVDs, all of which I have, the merchandise is crap.
Christ, I hope this gets better.
...
Is anyone else obsessively checking the "Cinematic Titanic" URL once daily for updates???

My computer's too slow for the cartoon to work but I liked the old video clips which seem to play fine.

Seems rather crude, given today's technology.

Okay, I'm still getting a blank page. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Is this a Flash site? I did have some problems with Flash yesterday, but I can watch YouTube again, so I don't know what else it could be...

I thought it was fine. I expect the cartoons will get better. Online animation tends to be hit or miss, but Paul's a funny guy. True. Compare the KTMA episodes to seasons 4 or 8 (the best in my opinion.) I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being. It could turn out all right.

Just watched it. It is what it is, I guess. *shrug* Okay, I'm still getting a blank page. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Is this a Flash site? I did have some problems with Flash yesterday, but I can watch YouTube again, so I don't know what else it could be... Yeah, it's a Flash site. Do you use Firefox? For me, at least, the site isn't working in Firefox unless I open it IE tab.

Oh man! The "all new MST3K.com" website SUCKS! Don't get me wrong – I really wanted to like it! I'm just as big a MSTY as anyone, but what a lackluster waste of an opportunity. I waited how many years for THIS!?!
I agree wholeheartedly with Cheepnis – THIS IS A PATHETIC EXCUSE ON MALLONS PART TO SIMPLY CASH IN VIA A WEAK AND "CHEESY FRONT-END TO LURE PEOPLE INTO THE STORE!" UGH! PATHETIC! SIMPLY PATHETIC!
Before anyone thinks that I'm simply rooting for the "other "guys, let me just say that I also think Rifftrax SUCKS TOO! Here again is a prime example of MST3K has-beens "cashing in" or at least attempting to cash in on their MST3K past. The real problem with Rifftrax is that it lost sight of what MST3K was really all about – bad movies! Their formula is to simply riff any new DVD release because of so called "availability." MST3k was about riffing bad movies, not just DVDs that were about to come out and that it could link to and collect a fee every time some doofus clicked on the link to purchase the movie by clicking here.
Further, most of the movies were older movies and added to the campiness of the show. On rifftrax, they'll riff anything (good or bad) as long as there is a buck to be made! As for the synching of an mp3 track with a DVD – Oh please, I haven't got the time to splice a jillion things together for a couple of hours of entertainment (and not much at that.) Rifftrax also relies too heavily on crude potty humor or outright language (a real sign that the writers are simply not creative or talented enough to write actual riffs or humorous dialogue). Can't think of anything funny to say? Hey, let's talk about potty humor! That always gets a laugh from the unintelligent masses!
So, in a word, Rifftrax SUCKS too!
My only hope left is that Joel Hodgson (the real and only talent behind MST3K) will dazzle us once again with his talents. And with Trace and Frank and original company along for the ride, it does look good!
MST3K.COM and RIFFTRAX – GO TO HELL! (Or at least to Canada!)
- And it's really disheartening and shameful that all of these former friends and MST3K alumni can't stand each other! Just one more hope dashed in this world that people who should be able to get along and collaborate together to continue or *gasp* perhaps make something altogether new and comedic-ally brilliant simply CAN'T or WON'T! (Go to CANADA!!)
Enuf said!

I definitely felt the "bad host segment" vibe, but really, I liked it. If I wasn't already hooked on these characters, I'm sure I'd never watch it again, but when it comes down to it I liked it. The payoff was totally obvious, but Crow's yammering about the kayak was my favorite part. Well, it was the only part I found funny.
But I was hoping for better, to be sure. I'm particularly disappointed in the absence of riffidge. I had guessed there wouldn't be, but I was hoping hard for some sort of riffing somehow, somewhere.
Thank goodness I already bought my bumper stickers and original planet logo shirt.
So, unfortunately, even though BRB has begun, the verdict is still out for me.

The 'toon is loading as I speak. The internet at my school seems to hate my computer today...
