(NOTE: Remember, not all of these movies are terrible; just not that deserving of a Best Picture award...or sometimes, even a nomination for that matter.) For me, its pretty much neck and neck between Gladiator and Forrest Gump. But, I'm casting my vote for Forrest Gump, because I was forced to watch this sickeningly cloying wad of matted ass-hair sandwich of a movie on a 3 hour nighttime bus trip home from New York, in college. I was trapped in my seat with nowhere to flee, unable to listen to music (due to the ear-splitting volume of the TV set right above me), and unable to read, due to the dark. I barely survived that damn trip alive. Goddamn Forrest Gump. Sounds more like the name of a contagious tree disease.

It came down to Titanic and Chicago. But I hated Titanic just a little bit more.

96 to 99 stunk and also 02. But Titanic is the biggest waste of film ever so it wins this little poll by a mile.

Titanic wasn't worth the hype, but it wasn't a terrible movie.
Shakespeare in Love and Forrest Gump weren't even close to being the best pictures of their year, so I have a hatred for them.
The one I really want to vote for is The English Patient. I remember being incredibly angry when I walked out of the theater after that one. And then even more angry when it won Best Picture.
But then I remember that Ralph Feinnes was in it, and I like him. And I remember that Forrest Gump was originally supposed to be a Terry Gilliam film starring Bill Murray.
Oh yeah. Gump all the way.

Yeah this is a good poll...you should do all the decades....
I haven't seen Forrest Gump, Gladiator, or Titantic. Though I suspect they're the worse I have to go with what I've seen.
Shakespeare in Love was total dreck. It was painful to sit through, well, except for when Ms. Paltrow took off her kit......it gets my vote no problem

I really don't care for "Dances With Wolves." Didn't understand what all the fuss was about.

Thanks! I originally wanted to make this one single poll with every single Best Picture winner, but there wasn't enough poll choices. (Plus, everyone probably would've concentrated on the more recent films.) I shall soon do the 80's next, then proceed chronologically backwards.

I went with Forrest Gump. Not only did I not like the film, but Pulp Fiction should have won that award. I'm not even sure if it was nominated (I doubt it even was) but that film is so much better than Gump it's not even funny.

And of the 5 nominated that year, Gump was the 4th best. 1994/95 nominees: Forrest Gump The Shawshank Redemption Pulp Fiction Quiz Show Four Weddings and a Funeral

Titanic sucked.
Although Shakespear in love was a mindless waste of celluloid.

Friend of mine who saw this on the big screen told me during the scene when the boat tilted vertically and people were falling to their deaths, someone in the theater yelled, "Weeeeeeee!" LOL Now that's funny!

I throroughly enjoy the ones from that list that I have seen (Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, Titanic, American Beauty, Gladiator)
The one I hate the most is A Beautiful Mind. What a boring piece of crap. Smart man's Fight Club. UGH.
(I also hate awards shows, I rarely agree with them)

LOL Now that's funny! That's so weird... when I saw that movie I said the same thing! Anyway as much as I hate Titanic ...I had to vote for that piece of crap known as "Chicago"
