James at Fifteen....the pilot
this film was very controversial, because James has a thing with an older woman (Kate Jackson) and loses his virginity in a sleeping bag to some cute girl...since I was that age at the time I was pretty interested in this one and pretty pissed when they cancelled the series before the first season was over.
Also: Gargoyles Go Ask Alice--anti-drug film that freaked me out. The Wildcats--William Shatner in a motorcycle gang? Born Innocent--Linda Blair, bedknobs, and broomsticks

Right with you there, lmd. This was pre-"kidTV" days. There were not many, if any, shows dealing with young people and their problems. James at 15 (later 16) was a favorite show of mine, and I never missed it. Again pre VCRs, so that's saying something. Here was a show that was addressing how I was feeling, not my parents and their parents...me.

I don't know if a miniseries would qualify here, but if it does I would say "Holocaust" I was in 4th grade when this was on NBC and that was how I learned about the Holocaust. That was also the first time I ever saw how cruel people could be to each other. I also liked James at 15 and I think it was called "Sarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic.

My friends and I used to love TV movies in junior high. My all time favorite is No One Would Tell, where Fred Savage beats the living crap out of Candice Cameron. Friends til the End with Jason London and Shannon Dohrety. Not to say Twisted Desire with Melissa Joan Heart wasn't great. Seriously, my friends and I lived by these movies. The really sad part is sometimes they are still shown on Lifetime and I watch them. Kill me please.
I remember every year in school we'd watch the Ryan White one when learning about AIDS. I remember a very young Nikki Cox playing his sister. Twas a good one as I recall.
Wasn't Stephen King's IT actually made for TV? If it was, I should totally change what my favorite is. I guess the line between what was made for TV and what has just been shown on tv has gotten kind of blurry for me.

If you mean the version starring Tim Curry as the clown, and also featuring Harry "Night Court" Anderson and a twelve year old Seth Green, then yes. Yes it was.

I don't know. That 's the version I know of, and I remember it was a TV movie from the early 90s. It also had Venus Flytrap (from WKRP) in it, didn't it?

I just looked up "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" on IMDB. Many of the Users Comments talked about how they were "scarred for life". Also some talk of a dvd from monstersinmotion. Also a mention of another TV movie I remember called "Lets Scare Jessica to Death"

The Wildcats--William Shatner in a motorcycle gang? Born Innocent--Linda Blair, bedknobs, and broomsticks "Pray for the Wildcats." Also starring Robert Reed and Andy Griffith (!?) as the sleazy businessman. Born Innocent. LOL I've heard a lot about this one.

Is Born Innocent the one where she gets put in jail? I think I saw that one.
I forgot about James at Fifteen.
I know this is about tv movies, but it reminded me how much I loved the afterschool specials. I miss them.

It's the British Bozo the Clown.... (sorry, bad teeth joke) And in Britain, his sidekick isn't Cookie the Clown, it's Biscuit the Clown. (sorry, obscure Chicago TV joke....)
