The short was very funny but I don't care for the DivX format. I have five DVD players in the house and none of them play a DivX DVD. I wish Rifftrax would consider switching to a system similar to the EZTakes that CT is planning to use. I'd much rather watch on my TV than my monitor.

I agree, It's nice to see them like that but I'd prefer to have them on disc. Any chance they'll one day offer a shorts collection DVD at Rifftrax? Rights on those shouldn't be an issue.

I'm closer n' closer to diving into Rifftrax , but :
This is something new , right ? It downloads all synched & fully playable ( on a Mac too ? ) ( I just got the email from Rifftrax for it... a totally blank page !! .. which sure boosts my confidence )
and ! , where does one find instructions for regular ol' Rifftrax , and The Stars Wars Holiday if that's different ? I have the special , the one that starts w/ the fan-scroll , just haven't looked into what I do with it yet ! What I'm asking about is the 'DiVx"... Mac-friendly or no ? It's all very confusing , at first anyway. I'm watching the Star Wars right now, w/ QuickTime & iTunes . . and it's working , even if that's not the rght way !

Just watched Visit to Santa. It's weird hearing them riff something I've watched a dozen times myself (when I featured it on Fun With Shorts). They even made some of the same jokes I did. Of course, they're Best Brains and I'm not. It was great. I really hope they do more shorts. I'm not enamored of DivX, though. I don't like having to jump through hoops just to watch a ten minute video I paid for. I hope they offer alternative delivery methods for their on-demand stuff.

Now I remember where I saw that short... on Josh's compilation.
Let's start a "dump the DivX" campaign.

To be technical: They could have made that in a Video CD format (VCD) which would have been about the same size to download. And it could have been offered in a Nero image form so you can download it and burn it to a CD with Nero in one click. VDC's are compatible in about 95% of DVD players out there...which is way more compliant then DVD players that play DivX.

An mp3 is now available for people who want to make their own DRM free versions, anyone who previously purchased this title should have the mp3 in their downloads section.

There's only one audio track and it has both the movie and the riffs, just like MST3K. Should work just fine on a Mac, too, with this: www.divx.com/divx/mac/player/Instructions for regular RiffTrax can be found on the left-hand side of the main site: It really is that easy. Mike opens every track with instructions on exactly when to hit play on the DVD, so there's never any confusion about that. And DisembAudio reads a line from the film every so often so you know you're still synched up. If you're still holding out because it's too complicated, it's simply not. Go for it already! The Star Wars Holiday Special is a special case. But again, it's just as easy. Just play the file at the same time you resume the RiffTrax (after the intro -- and Mike will tell you when to pause). If you can walk and chew gum at the same time, you can enjoy RiffTrax. Don't miss out on the funny out of fear it's too difficult. I promise it's not!

Ah , You replied to an earlier post ( what thread are we in ? ). I've already watched the Star Wars . . and I see that synching to a DvD will be a sweet snap ( mmmh . . . sweet snaps ) It's the DivX that StuffIt won't open that's got me hung on a tree here !
