First of all, let me restate that I hate DivX. DRM in all its forms is the devil. Still, it's nice to have the riff combined with the film. Very nice. But give me MPEGs or MOVs or AVIs, please.
Okay, this short is classic. How did MST ever miss this? I felt like the riffing was pretty lightweight and sparse, in places. A lot of wasted opportunities. I need to give this one a few more viewings to get a feel for it, though. Still, I can't tell you how much I love the short itself. It's pure awful, in all its raw splendor. Magnificent.

I actually figured out that I have two or three players that will handle DivX. My players were telling me they weren't authorized for playback. I (don't laugh) didn't understand that you have to activate the player.
For anyone else that might not know, your compatible DVD player will have an activation code. Mine was in the setup menu. After finding it, go into the DivX player, click on tools, Device Manager, follow the instructions and burn an activation CD.

This is a very bad short. I can't wait to see their take on it. I doubt it will beat yours, Josh. ;D Oh, but I'm sucking up, aren't I?

I'm so taken with this short that I might take a shot at it myself.

Really, the short was a hoot. I hope they consider doing more stuff like this in the future.

DivX. Ugh.
I found the short unriffed and downloaded it and will proceed as I normally do synching the audio and video tracks with NERO.
Thanks, but no thanks on the DivX version.

Yes you can download the un-riffed video from www.archive.org and when you purchase the VOD from RiffTrax, you can now download the strait MP3 of it (like you would with other rifftrax). There are no sync lines, you just start the RiffTrax MP3 the exact same time you start playing the video.

LOVE IT! It really makes me wish Rifftrax would do some more public domain stuff. Come on, Rifftrax - Archive.org's got all the material waiting for you!

I agree, this was one of their all-time best shorts.
However, it would have been nice--especially with RiffTrax gaining in popularity--if they gave it away as a freebie. Yeah, I know it was inexpensive, but it would have been a nice gesture to the fans AND picked up a few more in the process.
I just about peed my pants laughing at Santa's "house". It was worth the money just for that moment.
