Hmmm....you know, I've always had a soft spot for "Build me up Buttercup." I'll have you know that "Build Me Up, Buttercup" is a brilliant song. The melody, the arrangement, the circle-of-4ths chord progression, the fill that goes back into the verse from the chorus...it's all stellar. Like Bootsy Collins, if anyone thinks that song is stupid, they can bite me.

"Existential Blues" by T-Bone. An old Dr. Demento fav.
I also like Eminem and some other guy's "Shake That Ass For Me." Or, rather, I like my wife's interpretation of it.

You've got quite a wife there, mummi.
I also love the song with the chorus "I bless the rains down in Africa." Sometimes it gives me the shivers. Sometimes. When I'm vulnerable and weak.

You've got quite a wife there, mummi. Best part of the song: I'm a menace. A dentist. An oral hygenist. Open your mouth for about four or five minutes. Take a little bit of this flouride rin-inse. Swish but don't spit it. Swallow and finish. Yee-eah...Classy.

The reviews are quite positive. People are stupid. I love me some Duran Duran. I love Duran Duran too! So cheesy. I can't help it. Divine's (yes, that one) "You Think You're A Man" has been stuck with me for weeks now. I can't get bored with it.

I think I can list almost every 80's pop song ever and do just fine.
Recently, I've gotten "Words" by Missing Persons. The song is nice but the video is ridiculous. I don't know what the chick is wearing.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for any 80's new wave, though I wouldn't call most of that stupid -- it's pretty damn catchy and fun to dance to. Missing Persons are cool. As are OMD, Gary Numan, Men Without Hats, Peter Schilling, etc., etc. And I was a HUGE Durannie back in the day -- now I can only really get into their first three albums, especially their debut, which I think is a classic. "Planet Earth," "Careless Memories," "Night Boat," "Friends of Mine" -- come on!

Oh another they made fun of on MST, that "MMMMMM" song by the Crash Test Dummies. I thought it was unique, I liked how it didn't sound like everything else and the video was interesting with the little stories. Strange tune but I liked it. Then they did that terribly bland remake of Peter Pumpkinhead and the shine was off the romance.

This is so embarrasing for a Motown girl like myself, but I've always been partial to 'I've Told Every Little Star' sung by Linda Scot.

There's definitely no shame in The Foundations, Linda Scott, Gary Numan or Paul Revere & The Raiders
