A little goofy-ass video from AC/DC circa 1985. They used to do weird videos like this, and watching it harkens back to time when you never knew what you'd see next on MTV. I love the group of suits as they march into the bar. Like I sad, not their greatest tune, but not bad. Hate the 80s or love them, they were what they were

Bought the album last week and I enjoyed it. It worked and flowed much better than I expected. As a tribute to Richard Wright it works beautifully. I also approached the album as a 1993 jam version of songs they may have done if filming a new version of Live In Pompeii. Bit's of A Saucerful of Secrets and other older and newer songs float through the tracks. It'll take time for those not used to Pink Floyd's early jam band past to get used too, but most of the older fans should have very little problems with it.
And I've read a few comments online about this track that mention the speaking voices as unknown. Um, that's Richard Wright then David Gilmour's voice. You would think some of these fans would know, but then again Pink Floyd members were always the most private individuals in the world of rock music.

I stopped at the local convenience store on the way to work last night (town population: 600). A clerk who had been there about a year and I made some small talk about jobs and he mentioned he works three jobs - the convenience store, a local bar and he's also doing remodeling on a building he bought downtown. He's turning it into a recording studio, which is very odd for this area, but cool. He had married a local gal and moved here from Minneapolis after growing up and living in the Seattle area for years, where he played in local bands. Judging him to be about my age or a little older, I asked him if I would know anybody he played for. "Malfunkshun?" he asked, testing if the name prompted recognition from me. I stared at him. "You mean Malfunkshun, as in Andrew Wood Malfunkshun?" He smiled, surprised and pleased I knew them. "Yeah!" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MalfunkshunTurns out he grew up in and around the whole late 80s, early 90s Seattle grunge scene and knew pretty much everyone to know from back then. He played in lesser-known bands when Mother Love Bone, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Green River and Mudhoney were all making new noise on the music scene. Kevin Wood, Andrew's brother, who founded Malfunkshun with Andrew, reformed the band in recent years with a fairly new lineup, and asked this guy, a long-time friend, to sing lead vocals in the new incarnation. He sang with them at a tribute for Andrew in recent years and there is YouTube footage of his performances. For those who may not remember, Andrew Wood would later go on to form Mother Love Bone, which included Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, who after Andrew's death would found Pearl Jam with Eddie Vedder. Mother Love Bone is considered a forerunner to Pearl Jam, and Vedder still occasionally sings Mother Love Bone songs penned by Wood in concert. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Wood_%28singer%29We talked for 10 minutes before I had to run to my meeting. The Seattle scene was kind of a big deal to me and my friends out here in the boondocks back in the day, and Andrew Wood was one of those tragic stories. Just a talented guy. I still like Mother Love Bone over Pearl Jam. So I've been putting on a little MLB the last 24 hours. This is one of their better-known tunes (a double-track of this song with the song Chloe Dancer also appeared on the soundtrack for the movie Singles), but I recommend the whole "Apple" album. Sorry for the long post, but it's not every day you run into someone who knows and works with musicians you really admire. Especially out here. And on top of it he's a damn friendly guy. What a cool pit stop on my way to work.
