I'm still really intrigued as to what their first release out of the gate will be. Rifftrax had Roadhouse, and Joel promises this movie is worse than Manos... a tall order, indeed!

This is great news. As much as I like all the rest, Joel is the heart & soul of the MST3K concept.
"Ahhh..... two scoops of raisins my ass...."
I've been hoping he'd return to his roots and now he's come home, welcome back Joel!!!!!!!!

To me, it feels like BBI got wind of Joel's new project, and have hurriedly prepared a project to bask in it's (hopeful) reflective glory. So that's kind of a dick-ish move, but I'm reserving judgement and keeping an open mind about the "new" MST3K. I don't mind having so much new cool MST stuff to check out after years of nothin'.
Oh, and FRANK!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Also, I believe that Satellite News were (ahem) ENCOURAGED to lessen the enthusiasm for Cinematic Titanic. I'm sure that if they want to keep their status as the official fan site, they're going to have to toe the line to a certain extent.
Oh, and first time poster. Hiya!

Have to agree here. No matter the issues between him and the rest (and I don't like what I've heard don't get me wrong) he still gives us fans what we want so I'm willing to give him a break. "Here's to Mr. Scrooge, the founder of our feast, without whom there'd be no Christmas at all!"

How do we abbreviate it? CinTit? CinTite? CT doesn't seem iconic enough I don't really like the name. " CINEMA TITANIC" sounds better, I think.

With the Star Wars special as a short before the feature. The very thought made me pee a little. This is awesome. Awe-some.

I was pretty stunned when I found out about this as everything I had read from Joel and Trace indicated that they were done with movie riffing. Whatever got their juices flowing again, I am greatful.
Future looks very good for us fans.
Rifftrax: Riffs on newer, more mainstream films in MP3 form. CT: Riffs on older, really bad films on either DVDs or downloadable dvds. Film Crew: Riffs on older, really bad films on DVDs (who knows if there will be any more?)
If you have heard Mary Jo on Rifftrax's "Glitter", you know she is a riot.

You know, I watched Killdozer when it premiered on TV back in 1974. You're jealous, I know...

I don't really like the name. " CINEMA TITANIC" sounds better, I think. Really? I like Cinematic Titanic. 'Cause it rhymes.

I am so bloody happy! Trace! Frank! Joel! So what does Cinematic Titanic really mean? I mean what's the name supposed to mean? Does it represent the type of movies they'll be riffing? Like big-time stuff that's just hopelessly sinking? Or is it more-or-less nonsense like the name Mystery Science Theater 3000? How do we abbreviate it? CinTit? CinTite? CT doesn't seem iconic enough . . . I'll plop for CinTit. Maybe we should have a poll or something, cos we never have enough of those...

This is awesome news. How do we abbreviate it? CinTit? CinTite? CT doesn't seem iconic enough I don't really like the name. " CINEMA TITANIC" sounds better, I think. I think Cinematic Titanic literally sounds better due to assonance. Plus the idea of a Huge Wreck of Movie comes across pretty well. There has already been a "cross over" Mary Jo riffed Glitter with Mike, and the door was always (and is) open for Joel or Trace. Since they are licensing films this is going to be more of a replacement for the Film Crew from the looks. I imagine the scaffolding idea was to avoid issues with BBI, I just hope it doesn't obscure too much (or I guess depending on the film, not enough? hehe) Bring it on!

How do we abbreviate it? CinTit? CinTite? CT doesn't seem iconic enough . . . CinemaTitan? It's not much of an abbreviation, though. This is awesome news. I don't really like the name. " CINEMA TITANIC" sounds better, I think. I think Cinematic Titanic literally sounds better due to assonance. Plus the idea of a Huge Wreck of Movie comes across pretty well. Yeah...I love the name. It beats out 'Rifftrax' and 'Film Crew', IMO. When I first read this, I was overjoyed. Then I read that they were going to be released through the internet and as burnable DVDs. Then I became unbearably depressed. I think they'd be limiting their sales by only releasing them online. I'm *holding out hope* that they'll be released in the straight-to-DVD format as well. Maybe Shout! Factory would be interested.

Also, I believe that Satellite News were (ahem) ENCOURAGED to lessen the enthusiasm for Cinematic Titanic. I'm sure that if they want to keep their status as the official fan site, they're going to have to toe the line to a certain extent. I suspect it has more to do with the fact that the InfoClub spilled a few more beans about what is forthcoming than Joel, et al would have liked at this time. Joel was very vague about actual details in the formal announcement but when he revealed full details to Sampo/Erhardt, he may not have made it clear enough that he wanted it kept so hush-hush. On another topic, I also agree that whatever bad blood exists between Jim and The Rest, it's still great that he continues to release the DVDs and (hopefully) new merchandise. I don't care how bad the animation or other content may be at the new site, I'm just thrilled to see more MST stuff of any variety. If it's bad, I'll only watch it once - but it doesn't mean that I won't add it to my personal library of MST3Kabilia. As for Paul, I highly doubt that he has signed any exclusivity contract to Jim. We may not see him collaborate with RiffTrax or CT (who would want to offend their boss?), but I'm sure he's free to wander as long as it's not in direct conflict with his Mallon projects (which of course it may be). Cheepnis - Rare poster who couldn't contain himself for all the GREAT new news!
