Why does everyone want this on TV? Right now all our money goes directly to the people that make the show. The important people. The creative people. The talent. You get a network involved and they want to make all the money. They want to call all the shots. This is the perfect situation with not having "suits" in the way of the show.

I don't doubt that at all. I'm sure SciFi was on their mind and there's no question they're capable of winking at us through the screen. I'm not sure the CT Bravo reference was the same thing, though. People who followed the show at the time of the movie knew the status of the series in regards to Comedy Central and might be expected to know that other networks could be involved. I don't know that much about CT, but I do know that right now they appear to be focusing on getting DVDs of their show out and at some point offering downloads. Seems too soon to guess that they're going to end up on television. Well, with jokes like "They stole Mike's keyboard," they're not above inside jokes either.

I'm not that anxious to see them get a traditional "at the mercy of the network" TV deal. But I'd love to see them get a deal that leverages the fact they can live without a network along the lines I described above. It could get them more money and more fans (making their current distribution method more stable if they get knocked off TV again) and let me get the show for less than $156/year. As for the significance of the Bravo riff - while the SFC riff seemed to highlight SFC's need for a show that had already helped one cable channel get into more homes, while the Bravo one just seems to emphasize that they might not fit in there. They do claim to feature comedy, but the only comedian I see working there is Dave Foley, being wasted as the host of a poker show.

and let me get the show for less than $156/year. That seems to be the kicker for a network. People want the riffs they just don't want to pay for it.... $156/year? Do you get a discount? My math indicates $191.28 if they release 1 a month.

Do you want riffs? Sure, we all do! For just the low, low price of .52 cents a day, you can adopt 12 episodes of Cinematic Titanic this year.

Which with the spindle of discs etc came to the $36 difference or so, but I figure I'll get more utility than just CT out of it, so I'm not charging it against them.

That is cool I was all prepared for burning my own but since I got confirmation that initially they will all be pressed discs I am gonna pony up the extra $3 for them.

You got confirmation of that? Will they alert us when they will no longer be pressed so we can begin downloading?

Despite all efforts, CT isn't nearly gay enough to fit into Bravo's lineup. Zing! LOL Yeah, I stopped watching Bravo when they started showing nothing but Queer Eye for the Straight Guy/Girl twenty-four/seven. The only thing that channel was ever good for was re-runs of "The West Wing", and they don't even have those anymore.

Reading the original post I think it was just one of many good Riffs and nothing more. I would be shocked if it actually hinted the BRAVO network were picking it up.
I also don't believe that was the real Steven Hawkings anymore that the puking skit guy was the actual dead New Orleans trumpeter Al Hirt.

The riff was just poking at all the make-over shows Bravo does. The majority of thier programming is about looks.
Make Me A Supermodel Project Runway How To Look Good Naked the list goes on and on and on and on.

You got confirmation of that? Will they alert us when they will no longer be pressed so we can begin downloading? I got confirmation that all the initial discs of each CT episode will be factory pressed. Eventually they will revert to DVD-Rs as they get older. This is only in relation to paying the extra $3 to have them make and send you the discs. The plan is to have them available to download and burn whenever possible. CT-1 had a rights issue and that is why you can't download it and burn it right now. But for $3 extra bucks I will wait for the factory pressed discs.
