Hee ! I believe he meant the poor man's drink , not so much the drink of poor men ! ! Make fun a' me ! OHHHHHH! What can I say, I have blonde moments every now and then! ;D My bf hates beer and only drinks Smirnoff Ice/Mike's Hard Lemonade/Girly drinks. And I make fun of him too. Know those tiny girls who can drink like the hardest stuff on earth and be okay? That's me- 151 doesn't scare me and my drinks of choice are old man drinks. your poor bf! i sympathize with him. i don't like beer either so i stick to the girly drinks. of course, i AM a girl, so i can get away with it better than he can... although you've got me craving a long island iced tea now..

As punishment for enjoying myself at the show, my son is sick with strep throat, so I've sent the film off with my husband who assures me he will get it developed today. So maybe tonight there will be pics up. Sorry for the delays.

No, the stage was larger. That's a column blocking out Josh and the rest of the stage. RAD I think we expect a little more then stage-dimensions from RAD , no ? I'm sure there's a day or two of recovery in order , but then I'm hoping for his slant on things. Possibly pics too ? As requested, my slant of the event... We left Austin early on Saturday to fly to Minneapolis. Here in Austin it was 75 degrees. Now you all know that I'm a Southern man. I have never, ever been in an environment where the temperature is below the zero mark on a thermometer. Our plane was delayed over 3 hours. It was a long flight, and while waiting interminably for our baggage with the sweltering throng of people packed together in the Minneapolis airport it was stiflingly hot, so I removed my jacket. Mary Jo's parents had come to the airport to pick us up, and were parked just outside the exit door. Literally 4 or 5 strides away. I remember thinking to myself; 'It's going to feel so good to actually be able to cool off for a second before we get into the car.' Our baggage thumped down the ramp, I grabbed it, and with my jacket carried suavely over one arm, stepped out into the -138 (wind-chill wise) Minneapolis night. The cold was like striking a brick wall. I took one step, briefly considered taking one more which would effectively halve my way to the warm, waiting car, and immediately rushed back into the airport to put my jacket on. I have no idea how Minnesotans survive. Sunday was spent with Mary Jo's family, and we got to hang out with all of her siblings and their spouses and all of our wonderful nieces and nephews. Sunday night she went out with her sisters and I went with one of her brothers to my first Lacrosse game (go Minnesota Swarm!). It was a lot of fun and a treat because on most of our visits, it's such a whirlwind tour that both of her brothers and myself have often lamented that we don't ever get enough time to just hang out together for 'guy' stuff, so this was a nice change of pace. Especially as Mary Jo has the coolest family ever! Monday the Titans met at the Acme to do last minute planning, and then Mary Jo and I went from there to the radio station (the same station she used to do a weekly show for until I transplanted her to Texas soil) where she was interviewed on-air and talked about Cinematic Titanic and the upcoming show. Tuesday we went to the Corbett's and hung out with them for a bit (and they have the most adorable children EV-AH!) and then Mary Jo got ready to rock the Acme with the rest of the Titans. We got there about 6:30 or so and Trace's wife and I got the merchandise table set up (the merchandise consisted of; black Cinematic Titanic T-shirts with the silhouette logo on the front and the Time Tube on the back, 8X10 prints of the Titans in silhouette to be autographed, Oozing Skull DVD's and cases *Note: Trace's wife designed the DVD case artwork and it is AWESOME!*, and empty cases and artwork for those who had already ordered the DVD on-line). I met the wonderful Ms. Pierre Trudeau and her way cool boyfriend and we had a chat that wasn't nearly as long as I would have liked. Miss Interoceter's better half, Keith, came over while we were putting things out and introduced himself and I was BUMMED because Miss didn't come over with him! (Although she did come by after the show. It was a true pleasure meeting her and she is even sweeter in person than she is here on the board. I would have loved to have spent more time with her and Keith). I chatted with James of LinHood (whom I already knew, so it was a true pleasure seeing him again) and bantered with some of the fine fans that were standing around waiting for the show to begin. There was a little confusion regarding the merchandise table, as the plans had been made the day before that the club would watch the table during the show. The manager on duty stated that he had not been notified and that he had no one available. Well, there was no way that Trace's wife and myself were going to miss the show, so we just boxed everything up and went on in. Trace was calling out people's handles from the board, and as he called out Van Hagar's name I saw Van raise his hand and made a mental note to catch up with him after the show. Unfortunately, I was a little too slow and he was gone by the time I went looking for him. Mary Jo's set was first, so afterwards she came into the club to watch the rest of the show with me. Every one of the Titan's was hilarious! We had a great time watching all of the brilliant performances. As has been stated, Josh and Joel reprised their classic MST3K theme song and it sounded eerily close to the original (even to the point of Josh adding the classic 'BRAAAAANG' vocally at the end). After the show, the Titans scooched Trace's wife and myself to the corner of the table and they sat down for autographs and conversation. Everyone who came by was so nice and had such great stories. And, FINALLY, Miss Interoceter comes by! Again, I didn't get to spend nearly the amount of time with her and her wonderful husband Keith as I would have liked. But now that I know what everybody looks like, I'll be able to capture them at the next event. It was a great show, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and I got to meet lots of great people. We can't wait for the next one. As for pictures, I'm not holding out on you guys. I didn't take any! I did video Mary Jo's segment, but that was all. RAD

Thanks, RAD! (Maybe all posts on this board should automatically start that way.) Sounds like a great time, and that you were WAY too busy to have time to take pictures. Any idea if/when they might be offering some of that merchandise online? I got the merchandise table set up (the merchandise consisted of; black Cinematic Titanic T-shirts with the silhouette logo on the front and the Time Tube on the back, 8X10 prints of the Titans in silhouette to be autographed, Oozing Skull DVD's and cases *Note: Trace's wife designed the DVD case artwork and it is AWESOME!*, and empty cases and artwork for those who had already ordered the DVD on-line). As for pictures, I'm not holding out on you guys. I didn't take any! I did video Mary Jo's segment, but that was all. RAD You're excused ! Busy as you were repacking merchandise and keeping track of MSTies ? Plus the flash-freeze immersion of a Texan amongst the Minnesotans ?? I wonder if you ever felt truly warm the whole trip !! ( That'll put you off yer game a bit ! ) Very evocative telling there RAD . . . now I'm wondering if it's been too busy a week to expect your ol' pal Joel to have those answered questions ready today ! He's excused also , but he could still surprise & delight us ! ;D!

Nuh uh, Joel is so not excused from posting today. He promised. But poor RAD, I can imagine how walking into -138 degree weather would traumatize you...but when you're done thawing out, any chance we might get to see the video of Mary Jo's act?

Aww, RAD, you're such a sweetie! And yes, all posts should start out, "Thanks, RAD!" You make me feel kind of bad about my upper midwest mentality. As I was walking up Nicollet all I could think was "Ah, this weather is so bracing! Why is everyone so bundled up?"
Also, we really need to stop calling Trace's wife 'Trace's wife'. Poor woman! She must have a first name. She needs to be properly thanked as well for her tremendous hard work at the show! Thank you, Mrs. Beaulieu!

RAD is good people. Which makes it tough, because I'm trying not to snicker over:
Totally unfair of me, though. As a life-long Midwesterner, I know I can handle a Minnesota winter. But I don't know how anyone survives the relentless heat of a Texas summer.
It's so nice that you got to visit with the Corbetts. It sounds like they're doing well, even with the baby and the hordes of imaginary dogs.
And congratulations to Trace's wife (can you say what her first name is, or should we just call her Mrs. B?) on the excellent design on the DVD cases. Seems like Trace isn't the only one in that family with creative design talent.
If the Titans' October 25th performance at the State Theater becomes a reality, then I'm going to be there for sure.
Edited to add: Great minds must think alike! Miss I. snuck her post in ahead of mine, and made some of the same points I did. She's quite right, as well, that every post should include a hearty, "Thanks, RAD!"

Thanks! I rewatched it a couple months back and that line just really stuck out to me and I thought, wow, how hilarious and obscure.
