Hey, we're driving from Austin to Dallas, that's almost as bad! Heh, well, at least you guys don't have to fly out for this one. It's the first and only benefit Texas has had over Chicago in my three-year tenure, so far. That and the whole don't-have-to-shovel-snow thing.

Heck yeah, I'll be there. There's no way I'm missing the chance to see so many Brains do their thing in the flesh. I mean, how many times are those crazy Minnesotans going to make it down here to Dallas?

If either of you like Dr Pepper, I recommend stopping at the Dr Pepper Museum in Waco (the town where Dr Pepper was invented!). When I went, they had a loop of the great old Dr Pepper commercials, more Dr Pepper souvenirs than probably anyplace else in the world, and a REAL SODA FOUNTAIN where they serve the authentic cane sugar Dr Pepper (it's so much better than the high fructose corn syrup kind). Also don't miss the classic Circle-A ginger ale (which was made by the Dr Pepper company about a hundred years ago, and as far as I know can't be gotten anywhere else now).

Hey Doug,
Thanks for the information. That sounds like a blast! We'll be on a tight schedule for the trip there, but I would definitely love to stop on the way back.

Hey RAD. Mary Jo, Frank, Trace and Joel don't actually look at what their fans write about them on the CT forums do they?
Because if they do, I'm so sorry. We aren't all like that. Some of us keep the crazy to ourselves.

I just came back from it (I only got to see the panel because the live riffing movie part was sold out) but it was freaking awesome. Got their autographs, shook hands, told them I loved them. I am so ecstatic that I can't speak or type clearly. So I shall end this post before I lapse into typing in tongues.

I just got back from the show. I'm in the opposite position from leovinus. I got to see the show, but for some reason didn't go to the panel beforehand. I'm smacking myself in the head for not doing that because apparently, if you went to the panel, you got to go into the theater first for the movie. Well, somehow, even though we got there early enough to be in the first third of the line waiting to see the movie, my wife and I ended up being the ONLY people sitting in the aisle. I think there were a couple single seats across the theater from each other, but I just didn't feel like leaving my wife alone in a sea of strangeness . . . I mean strangers.
Aside from our sucky seating arrangements, I've gotta say that the movie riffing was hilarious. And the choice of movie (Wasp Woman) was perfect for CT. I haven't seen Josh Way's riffing of the movie, but CT did a great job and it was amazing to be able to see it live.
Luckily they did an autograph session after the movie, too, so I got all their autographs and got to shake hands. To top it off, I was wearing my Tom Servo shirt and Joel actually offered to sign it without me even asking (of course I let him). Now I'll have to put the shirt on the wall instead of wearing it, but that's okay . . . it gives me a reason to get that Crow shirt I've been wanting. I also got a chance to meet RAD in person finally, since he was the money tender for the DVDs and 8x10s they were signing.
So, despite a bit of disappointment at my luck in finding seats, it was an awesome night and I'm glad I finally got to see my comedic heroes in the flesh.

Fellow Dallas attendee here. Ditto on what has been reported thus far. The evening was VERY enjoyable. During the MST at 20 Forum, Joel accused me of being a "RAD plant" for asking a question about Cinematic Titanic pre-production, specifically, the "prior to studio taping/filming" process.
Word from the Titans is: Wasp Woman will be one of the three in-studio May tapings upcoming, and that the merchandise link on the CT site should be active sometime soon.
It was nice to finally meet and interact with RAD...a nicer person I doubt exists.
The Titans were seated in front of the movie screen, with easels and lights on their scripts...no scaffolding.
I think that's about it. Hope this post was somewhat informative/enlightening. Good night.

Ok. My thoughts. Angry disclaimer First let me apologize for not having my pictures I promised. But as I was 3 people away from Frank I Realized I had lost my Camera ( wife’s camera) from my pocket. My phone wallet mints keys were all still there but my camera was gone. So after getting my CT movie autographed I went back in the theater and looked but no go . someone must have grabbed it because the cleaning crew had yet to be in and I looked under at least 4 rows below and above where I had sat. I also check the bar where I ate before I gave up totally. Same bartender said he did not notice a camera alone. GRRRRRRRRR. Anyone see any threads joking about this …. I don’t know what I can do to recover it. I am just angry. The Dip**** that took it can not charge the camera as the cradle was specific to that make and can not upload pics via the camera as that was done through the cradle too. They did get my 1GB stick in it though. I am pretty sure I got all the pics of my dogs loaded so at least I did not lose their shots. Happy Pony Rainbow CT thoughts. If I could l have remembered the URL of this site I would have told them about it. Sorry. Brain failure. Plus the camera incident above should help explain my inability to speak to the panel at those crucial seconds you have. Yes the Q&A was excellent. The time warp/ paradox riff on the question from the audience was brutally funny. I had a question about the “ART” name MJO used for crow during her Madhost days. I had always wondered about that and thought it had something to do with the Fan letter from the end of Giant Gila. Apparently it had to do with a honeymooners tie in. that was so weird and unexpected I forgot the rest of the explanation. Sorry. The plant joke was funny. As was the Joel I am not ending on this question quote. Plust the MJO puke riffs. I pre purchased my tickets through TM and sorry if I should have posted that for you people who got there and found either the panel or the riff sold out. Both sessions were fantastic. For anyone who did not make the drive ( man I thought I had it bad from west of Fort Worth) It was amazing. The new CT movie will rock n roll you. It is hysterical. They have already posted what the name of it is. Wasp Woman. Very very Bad Corman movie. It had an Actor that played A scientist opposite Pete Graves in “killers from space”. I don’t know his name. Any way no spoilers but man it will be worth the purchase. I thought I heard something about them using the audio from the live riff for it but the other attendee above heard they were going back to the studios so I may not have gotten that right. But Joel did say something about them testing and updating the material and because of the black silhouette they can add jokes without anyone knowing. Panel. Everyone was very nice sorry I did not know who RAD was. Joel liked the fact that I downloaded and burned my disc and printed the label. Trace joked about the internet being the future again and MJO laughed when I said it was much easier to use a DVD the to rig my CPU up to my entertainment system while my wife calls me a dummy. Who is RAD? Saw him and did not know who it was. All in all awesome awesome experience. But next time I wear pants with zipper pockets.

It was great!! The panel, the live riffing of Wasp Women (which way better than the Oozing Skull) and the guys themself were all freaking awesome. I got to to chat with RAD before the movie started and indeed he was super super nice. I got a cast photo sign by all the cast and got to shake their hands. It was a great night!

Sorry to hear about your camera, pluckedturkey. Thanks for sharing the experiences, though, everyone. Sounds like it was a blast for everyone who was able to get tickets. I'm really, really hoping to go to the Minneapolis one in October.

Wow, and I thought I had it bad. That really sucks, pluckedturkey.
RAD was the guy taking the money during the autographs and he is Mary Jo's hubby. He's a Texan that somehow wrangled him a northern girl. He's supposed to be telling how that happened in the CT forum, but what with the live event and all, he hasn't had much time to sit down and write it all out yet. And if you're reading this, RAD, we're still waiting!
