I started looking at places around the theatre-I figured we could get more specific once a hotel gets set.
For a start, there's a place practically around the corner called Block E. It's got a lot of the standards (Hooters, Applebee's, Hard Rock) but also a reasonably-priced italian place called Bellanotte, and a Game Works (video games/sports bar place, like a Dave & Buster's). There's also a piano bar called The Shout House, and a couple of other little spots.

I will entertain everyone if it's open piano night at the Shout House.

I will entertain everyone if it's open piano night at the Shout House. Open... Piano Night??? That sounds like the most awesome thing ever. I love to play piano. ;o; I still gotta plan for this...

All of those options sound great Sia! Sounds like we won't have to worry about finding things to do!

I think the theatre is close to a lot of stuff that grew up around the Target Center. It should not be difficult to find a decent place. Maybe a NICE meal the night of the show, and Hooters for a lunch or something? If we get concrete on participation I'd be happy to handle reservations and such.

but also a reasonably-priced italian place called Bellanotte, Bellanotte is actually more of a swanky nightclub kind of environment. The kind of place where the beautiful people go to pickup pro athletes.

I was more interested in the menu. It looked good yet reasonably priced.
That Game Works place sounds fun too. Basically a big kid's Chucky Cheese.

If you want a NICE meal, for a fairly resonable price, I've heard great things about the 112 Eatery. Though it is four blocks north of the Target Center area. Pizza Luce on 4th Street is also great, though it's 3 blocks north of the Target Center area. Good gourmet pizza with a full bar. Otherwise if you want something a little cheaper and closer, O'Donovan's Irish Pub is right across from the Target Center and First Avenue. I've had good luck with the food there and it's not too expensive. www.112eatery.com/www.pizzaluce.com/www.odonovans.com/

OR if you guys are up for venturing outside the theater area, I'd highly recommend the Chatterbox Pub. There's one in both South Minneapolis and St. Paul. Excellent gourmet bar food and they also allow you to rent (and play) old Atari, Sega, and Nitendo games - or play a host of different board games for free. Just a fun, unique place, esp. if you grew up in the 80's. chatterboxpub.net/index.html

All of those sound awesome! Especially the last one!
I was hoping more of our local members had suggestions! I'm limited to the internet and hazy memories of a Denny's with booze and the MoA.

I commandeer 11 votes for a place with good pizza.

I am so not going to Hooter's. Not even if all the Titans and their spouses invite us to join them there. Does that sound harsh? I don't mean to be harsh. I'm just sayin'.
My plan is to stay at a hotel (1) within walking distance of the theater and (2) has shuttle service to the airport. That way I can avoid the hassle of a rental car and/or the anxiety of dealing with an unfamiliar public transportation system.

I found a couple of hotels in the area, but they're pricey.
