Man, they're really onto the new releases. I had a good time with this one, but it could certainly stand to have some fun poked at it.

I hope Rifftrax releases that as a poster. Kevin & Bill look especially fetching.

An easy one to riff, I just hope it's better than Raiders which was uneven to say the least!

That last Raiders trax was terribly unfunny, hope this isn't more of the same.

Had a gut feeling this would come next. I hate to say it, but the boys have become terribly predictable lately. Iron Man? The Happening? Indy? C'mon, guys. Take a chance and do something gutsy and out of left field. You guys got me to sit up in my chair when Memento was announced.
In no rush. Raiders isn't my favorite RiffTrax, and I'm not in on the Crystal Skull hate parade.

You can't blame them for wanting to be successful.

Think I'm buying the DVD today, but I'll wait to read a few reviews from some of you before I think about the rifftrack.

I hope this doesn't keep them from doing another like "Missle to the Moon" sometime in the future. I do enjoy riffing on the old B-Movies the best.

One of the real reasons I liked MST3K so much was the old movie cheese. I certainly understand if riffing new releases make more money then you riff that. My problem is I like so few of the new releases. I have virtually stopped going to the motion pictures because the movies they put out now are so formulaic and predictable that there is very little of interest to get me to the theater. Rifftrax does not add enough value to get me to sit through a movie like "Crystal Skull" again. I don't know, maybe its time for me to go away for a while. I feel old.

You can't blame them for wanting to be successful. I have no doubt that they do, seeing how these films are more likely to be sitting on an average consumer's shelf. However, these flavor-of-the-week releases don't really do much for me as a fan of RiffTrax and riffing as a whole. Movies like Iron Man and Crystal Skull should be done sparingly, IMO. Occasionally, there's a great one, like Lost or Spider-Man, but some of their best efforts are on movies that are built so well for the comedy that they symbioticly combine into a glorious whole, such as Island of Dr. Moreau, Battlefield Earth, or Batman & Robin. They need to do Friday the 13th. They need to do Anaconda. They could even do Scorpion King for all I care. Those are movies that I'm talking about, and potential classic Trax that get put on hold so they can pump out the next movie that made $200 million bank, whether it holds well for their comedy or not. It seems like RiffTrax has become a shadow of it's potential.

Mmm, I thought Dr. Mo and Battlefield Earth were merely okay. I thought Day After Tomorrow was going to be a slam dunk, it wasn't. Sometimes certain movies seem perfect but they don't offer up much laughs.
Then they'll do one that doesn't seem a good fit, and it's gold. I've pretty much given up looking at the movie. It's been impossible for me to predict what's going to light a fire under them and what doesn't.
There's a type of riffing I enjoy most.... they didn't offer much of what I like on Iron Man, but they did on The Hapening, Spider-Man, Pirates and the 6th Sense.
It's a crap shoot, so I just let the movies come and hope for the best. (still, I do generally like the oldies, the shorts and the TV shows)

I don’t understand why they aren’t doing a Filmcrew type thing riffing on fun, cheesy movies and releasing them on DVD plus digital download ala CT. The riffing on modern day blockbusters does nothing for me. Mike’s early Legend commentaries, The Film Crew stuff, Troll 2, Plan 9, The Star Wars Holliday Special and the shorts I loved.
Legend Films just remasterd and colorized some old PD horror movies, some of them have been done by MST but others haven’t. The Devil Bat, Last Man on Earth, Phantom from Space and Creature from the Haunted Sea would have made excellent riffing fodder for the boys. I think Mike Kevin and Bill are some of the funniest people on the planet but I just can’t get into their current project in its present form.
