I wonder if the 20th Anniversary edition will be rerelased as XIII?

Well... I love Soultaker. Mad Monster is dreadful though. And I'm not a fan of either of the Joe Don Baker episodes. Manhunt in Outer Space is good for a season 4 episode though. So that's one great episode, one good episode, and two I probably never want to watch again. A significant step down from the last set, but I suppose Rhino released worse. Hopefully it'll have interesting extras too.

Its good news about "Manhunt in Space" being included since it means that either the General Hospital shorts were indeed public domain or else getting the rights wasn't too tough. Hopefully this will open the door to getting "Crash of the Moons" and "The Beatniks" in a future set since both of these have GH shorts as well.

I love this set. I agree Mad Monster is the weakest, but its good to see another Season 1 episode with Dr Erhardt. I love the Rocky Jones episodes and hope this means that we'll soon get to see both of them on DVD. Soultaker is great and and Final Justice has...well, it has Joe Don Baker and that must count for something. I'm pretty happy with this. Can't wait to hear if there are any cool extras.

Nice selection. I'm most excited for 413 Manhunt. Fight for the rights for season 3, Shout Factory!
Fan copies of most of season 10 are so excellent that commercial DVDs of those same episodes aren't very exciting to me. Though I'll certainly replace what I already have with them.

Wow. I wasn't expecting to hear anything about this set for another 2-3 months! ...I haven't seen Final Justice in ages, and I've never seen those two Joel epps! ^ Same here! And "Soultaker" is in my top 10. ;D ETA: Even Rhino would be like, "you call that cover art!?"

I'm one of the rare people that doesn't mind "Mad Monster" (and yet I can hear Mr. Atari screaming even though I'm miles from him. lol). It's not brilliant, there are too many dead zone but there are a few riffs that are among my all time favorites scattered within. I'm glad to have a new clean, clear copy.
Manhunter I like, the other 2 I've seen too many times but I'll take 'em regardless.
Ugly cover but then covers mean little to me.

Wow, I was not expecting to hear this news this morning!
My two cents:
The Mad Monster: I don't mind it. It's a season 1 episode and I have a soft spot in my heart for all things season 1. Also, it's got a Commander Cody short on there and that hopefully means that a lot more season 1 episodes can be released.
Manhunt in Space: Again, it's good news that this episode is included because that means that (fingers crossed) more episodes with General Hospital shorts can be released. While I prefer Crash of the Moons myself, it's still a solid episode.
Soultaker: An iconic episode. The return of Joel AND Frank? Excellent riffing throughout. Hands down the best episode on the set.
Final Justice: Sure I've seen this episode a thousand times when it was played once a month during the last year of MST broadcasts on Sci-Fi, but it's a classic episode and a great companion piece to Mitchell.
I also like how the episode selection for this set follows the pattern of the previous Shout set: Two Comedy Central episodes, two Sci-Fi era. One hisorically important episode, one Joe Estevez movie.
My thoughts on the return of Rhino's numbering system: The number 13 is VERY unlucky and I suppose Shout was superstitious and didn't want to start a new endevour with the unlucky number 13.

My wish is a return of the faux movie poster art featuring Tom and Crow. I'd love to see a Soultaking Crow coming after Tom with a neon green donut.

I still feel like they're pandering to the SciFi fans, but I can't really complain - they are picking the best of that era. And I never say no to more pristine Season 1 on DVD, so I say bring it on!
