Oh, good, I've never seen those two Joel episodes. That will make this set an easy buy for me. I hate buying sets where there's only one new (to me) episode, like the last one. Then again I never mind getting DVD copies of Sci-Fi episodes, since mine are all crummy VHS TV recs I did myself.
I also hope they continue with the original art work. I arranged those little postcard giveways from the Anniversary Set into a picture frame and they now make a pretty cool MST3K poster.

YESSSS! Soul Taker is coming to DVD! I said how badly I wanted it. I've been watching it off and on over at YouTube for a while now.
I do have to wonder why Shout Factory makes such awful covers, though. I hated the covers for the Sonic set (Bad fan art? Really? Ugh) and I actually hide it in the back row of DVDs on my shelf.

Looks like a great set, I have never seen the 2 Joel episodes. 1001-Soultaker & 1008-Final Justice are both classic episodes in my book. I can not wait until this comes out.

I just thought I'd interject and celebrate the great Shout Factory with bad memories of Rhino--aren't you glad we don't have to deal with these problems anymore (the upcoming quoted article is taken from http://www.pitchforkmedia.com).
"For some of us, it's enough to simply bask in the new wavey warmth of New Order's finest recorded moments, many of which found their way onto Rhino's recent spate of expanded reissues. But for a certain type of New Order fan, superlative audio quality is a must, and-- oh yeah-- it would be nice if all the tracks were correctly labeled, too.
Turns out there are quite a few of these diehard fans out there, and they were none too happy with the way the deluxe editions of Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, and Technique turned out. They started a message board thread on the matter, compiling some 300 perceived errors between the 10 discs in the five packages, ranging from audio glitches and pops and crackles to sleeve note slip-ups to tracks on the bonus discs being flat-out mislabeled. Yikes.
Well, the uproar has caught the attention of the appropriate parties, including Peter Hook, who wrote on MySpace late last month that he and his people were "aware of the problems" and would "try and remedy the situation."
Now comes official word from Rhino, Warner Bros. UK, and the New Order camp acknowledging at least the audio errors and noting that they will be corrected-- and suggesting fans may be able to exchange their defective copies for new ones. Observe:
"Warner Bros. UK, Rhino, and New Order regret that the initial pressings of the Collector Editions of Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, and Technique contain some minor audio problems on the bonus discs. We are now in the process of correcting the problems, but it should be noted that due to the age and condition of some of the original source tapes, the sound quality may vary. A further statement will be issued once the corrected product is available. At that time, the procedure for exchanging CD's will be announced. Thank you for your patience while we resolve this situation.""
It's good to see that Rhino's tenuous grip on quality control continues--some things never change.
Long Live Shout Factory

To be fair to Rhino, I think the problems with the New Order reissues are the fault of Warner UK. Rhino only distributed the CDs in the US.

This looks like a much better selection than the last set. Both of the Mike Episodes are good ones and I’m happy to see some Season One love. Manhunt in Space isn’t that spectacular but it had to get released sooner or later I suppose.

Satellite News has info on the extras:
They are: • A new interview With “Soultaker” star and MST3K favorite Joe Estevez. • Mike, Tom and Crow’s appearance on ESPN Classic’s “Cheap Seats Without Ron Parker.” • A new interview with “Final Justice” writer/director Greydon Clark.

I am not sure when we should (if ever) expect a Servo figure, but otherwise those are some interesting extras, especially Joe Estevez, I do hope he's actually seen the episode.

I seem to remember reading that Joe was a fan (I always wondered if he still was, after he got riffed on/what he thought of the eps)
and will Greydon mention Angel's Revenge?
Interviews with guys who got hit twice.
And I have that Cheap Seats episode but it's still a nice extra for those who didn't record it. (Maybe Shout can release some CS dvds some day?)
As for the Servo toy. I'm waiting for the life sized giant verson for when they release "High School Big Shot" (and you thought the tin for 20th anniversary set was oversized? ;D

Like you guys, I'm really interested in the Joe Estevez interview. I mean, they tear poor Joe a new one in both Wurrwilf and Soul Taker. If he hasn't seen the episodes, then it'll be a big disappointment, but surely knowing he'd be interviewed, he'd maybe do a little homework and find them online or something. I mean, its not like he hasn't had the time... what else could he be busy with?

I like this collection. i am always glad to get a season 1, I loved the guys' mocking of Winky, and you get Mitchell II, and soultaker which is kind of like a reunion show of sorts with the appearances by Frank and Joel.
