If this is a repeat thread then send it to oblivion. The purpose of this thread is to explore disappointment. The qualifiers are you went to a movie theater, plunked down your money, bought your snacks, entered the theater and expected....entertainment. But, what happened? 10 minutes in you have the nasty creeping feeling you are watching a badly made film and you ARE NOT going to be entertained. Either you get up and leave or sit there and endure the pain. Either way you have just been cheated big time and leave weeping bitter tears of betrayal instead of being uplifted in the spirit. The worst movie I ever paid money to see was "Yor, Hunter of the Future." I think it's now a cult classic, but boy was I disappointed at the time. Right up there with Cave Dwellers. What's yours?

Said it before and I'll say it again(but please don't tell my reenactor friends who were in the movie)Gods And Generals. And I also paid for the second X-Files movie, which sucked.

My last year in college, friends of mine wanted to see "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon The Movie Film for Theaters". The original plan was to bring booze into the theater and get ripped, but that never happened, and I had to pay seven dollars at a crummy theater (if we had waited until Tuesday it would've been three, but NO) to see a movie I didn't really want to see in the first place.
It's not that I dislike ATHF. I believe it simply works better as a fifteen minute bit of insanity.
I saw the American version of "The Ring" in the movies as well. I personally think that movie sucked, but it was very funny. I got nasty looks because I was cracking up at the clearly visible stage lights and the scene with the horse on the boat. I paid to see that atrocity as well.

I was visiting my sister during her college years. She wanted to go out to see a movie and for some reason we went with The Fantastic Four. So must have paid more than twenty dollars for two tickets and concessions. It was such a stupid movie that I complained about spending money on it throughout the entire drive home. This apparently upset my sister and I felt bad about complaining. However, after she also used a pity parade to force me to go out and see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I don't feel so bad anymore about giving her a hard time for my troubles.

Forrest Gump.
No words can adequately describe my overpowering hatred for this film. I am ashamed that my $7.00 contributed to the effective justification of this abomination.
On a less bilious note, for some reason, while in junior high, my friend and I paid money to see Caddyshack 2 and Short Circuit 2. Twice. Each.

It's Alive!
We were so disgusted. There was a sneak preview at another theater, and we walked up and asked, "Is it the new Woody Allen film?" and the intelligent young lady said, "Oh, I don't know. It's some girl's name." I said, "Annie Hall?" "Oh, THAT'S it!" "Two Please!"
And we saw Annie Hall (Before the final cut) which made up for It's Alive.

"Crash" (the Cronenberg one, not the Oscar-winner. . .which also wasn't very good, but at least I didn't pay to see it.)
Also paid to see "Once Upon a Crime" and "Blame It on the Bellboy", two of the worst comedies ever made. (Hey, I was young and growing up in a small town at the time...our movie-going options were limited!)
