Prepare to engage bitching - bitching engaged.... NOW! I'm teasing, but... I probably wont get this - it sounds like it's all the same riffs from the sample (I'll have to check and compare to be sure) and I was happy with the original. So I'll have to hear from the rest of you what y'all thought of it.

I've bought them all but I'm going to have to get a third job if they keep going with the VOD releases.

(I had forgotten that the DVD I popped in the player was the riffed and not the unriffed version.) What happened was bizarre! The same riffs were almost in sync with each other but not quite. Yes, as you observed they reuse a lot of material. At least for the first minute or so. I haven't watched the rest of it. I'm still trying to get over what I did. Ahhhhhh.

Wow...I hope they offer a discounted price for those who already own the VOD, DVD, or Riff MP3. $3.99 is steep for reading already used scripts.

forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,12949.0.html It's the exact same riff! I'm listening to it now and it's been a while since I watched the Willard version but I recognised a few of the riffs straight away.

I'd like to ask a serious question to everyone who gave this one a negative rating: what did you expect? I think most people who bought this one knew what they were getting into and gave it a positive rating for Mike, Kevin and Bill's efforts...why would someone be so teed off that they would give this 1 star? I don't get it. It's bad enough that the iRiffs are getting fake votes, but who gives RiffTrax angry ratings? From what I can tell, there were just as many new jokes as Plan 9 from Outer Space, and I don't recall people giving that one negative ratings.
Anyway, if you enjoyed the riff, give it a real rating. Thanks.

I compared that section from the original when I got home from work and I laughed so hard I watched it all. I'm sure Bill & Kev do great, but I loved Fred so much, his dry delivery kills me. Like when he talks about the guy bashing the 2 punks with a sack of oranges... like it's the most natuiral, matter of fact thing in all the world.
Funny, funny trax. One day I might check out the new mix, just to compare delivery styles (might it even do it Dr. Z style for kicks)

I have the original Fred Willard version, and after seeing the M, K, &B version, all I can think is "why bother?" The Fred Willard version was so perfect, and such a (I hesitate to use the term "breath of fresh air" but at least it was "something new") I guess this version is simply for those who can't get enough of the Original Three, or who were hesitant about buying the first version, which I guess is understandable.

Thanks. The point is there was no point and we were charged full price for an almost word-for-word re-do. Personally after the last few that were very different and very funny I was expecting them to have drastically re-written the thing, especially as the original was already one of the best Rifftrax available. I suppose I just kind of feel jipped.

You all know I didn't buy it (and I wasn't going to post here at all), but I hadn't read that they even came out saying it was a (mostly?) re-do of the Fred Willard one. Isn't that kind of a slap in the face to Fred Willard? I wouldn't be back if I were him. Too bad, because I like him, and I've liked their other guest riffers for the most part, like Wierd Al. I'm glad it's getting negative reviews, but I wish more people would vote with their wallets. How hard really would it have been to go out and dig up a couple never-before-riffed old Public Domain movies? What's next, are they gonna release The Film Crew movies as RiffTrax? "Yeah, they're really kind of completely the same riffs, but this time we're using our RiffTrax voices instead of our Film Crew voices, and you don't get the host segments!"
I like Mike, Kevin and Bill as much as you can like someone that you just follow their work, and I know the "Sell Outs!" joke from the RiffTrax site, but recently I just feel like RiffTrax has lost its focus. I feel like I wouldn't be surprised if next week RiffTrax released a "riff" of a Mountain Dew commercial that ended with, "Ha ha ha, but seriously folks, buy Mountain Dew."

Just in the link you posted, I had no idea that it would be essentially the same commentary with other people. I can see what you meant now, but at the time, I thought you were implying the commentary would be mostly reworked. I don't really check the rifftrax site (I get my news here), so there may well have been a clearer statement there.
