Anyone here have a particular stand up comedian you just don't like?
For me, there's Lisa Lampinelli...Good gravy she irritates me...she reminds me of a female Andrew Dice Clay, hateful jokes about everyone that just aren't funny.
And, not to sound like a jerk, but her constant routine of "Oh, I only date black guys, I only date black guys, did I mention I only date black guys" to me screams of "Pay attention to me!" Rather then making any kind of profound statement.

I actually kind of like Lampinelli. Her delivery on The Aristocrats is hilarious, and she appears to be one of the only comedians (in the movie, anyway) who can deliver that joke on stage and get a laugh. But yeah, I can see how too much of her would be grating.
And really, do I even have to mention Larry the Cable Guy? In fact, the whole redneck brand of humor just doesn't do it for me. At all.

Agreed 100 percent on Larry the Cable Guy. In fact, if he, Bill Engvall, and Ron White all stopped doing stand up tomorrow, I would be a much happier guy. (I can stand Jeff Foxworthy in small doses for some reason).
But back to Miss. Lampinelli...I dunno, I just watched her recent standup special...didn't laugh once. She just comes across as so...hateful. (That might not be the right way to describe it).
I mean, when Don Rickles insults audience members, he has that "Oh, I'm just messing with you" kinda vibe to it, but Lampinelli just has this "I'm insulting you because I really *want* to insult you, you big loser!" Kinda vibe IMO.

Who said, "Dying is easy, comedy is hard"? I suppose that, without a schtick, comedy is a pretty rough business to get into. I think I once saw an act of television where you could really feel the unbearable tension as the performer's act ran out of steam. However, I will admit there are popular characters whose antics are quite frankly unfunny to me.
I will Dane Cook as a generally unsympathizable character. My sister played a CD of his act and I will admit that I liked his one bit about getting a death threat while in line shopping. However, that's about it.
Larry the Cable Guy is an act I am quite tired of, along with Engvall and Foxworthy; I have to admit, though, that Ron White is the only really funny one amongst them. What really annoys me about them is that they want to tell jokes about gays, but they always throw up the preemptive of, "Oh, I don't hate gays or nothing." And I think, "Really? Because I think your audience might have a differing opinion." Just tell the joke, for crying out loud! What's the matter? You don't want to hurt your chances of getting a family sitcom? Even Robin Williams occassionally said "n*****" in his acts. Characters like Larry the Cable Guy want to maintain their audiences of white conservative homophobic NASCAR dads without inheriting the stigma of one of Fred Phelps' crazy groupies. The guy even does pitches for Wal-Mart that get audience applause! What the hell is that about!?
I can't think of any others that get on my nerves. Frankly, while it may annoy a person how these thoughtless hacks maintain such popularity and success, it is a source of gratification that it doesn't last like it does for the real comedians. There's going to need to be a thread about this board's favorite stand-ups later on.

I'll put in my votes for Lampinelli, Dane Cook and all those guys on the Blue Collar tour, as well. The Titans did a riff in Boston like, "Isn't it funny how Dane Cook isn't funny?" Or something like that. It got a lot of applause.
And, uh, "Tater Salad"? REALLY? How lame. (Is that Ron White? I think so. It's one of those jerks.)
I don't like Jeff Dunham, either. (Sorry, Joel. Think I read somewhere that he likes him). I don't find him funny in the least, and he has to be one of the worst ventriloquists I've ever seen. I can see his mouth move every time. I'd like to shove Peanut in a blast furnace.
There's plenty more, but I can't think of names right now. If I see them on Comedy Central or something, I'll add them to my list.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Carlos Mencia yet, but I really don't care for him. Oh, and Margaret Cho also rubs me the wrong way.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Carlos Mencia yet, but I really don't care for him. Oh, and Margaret Cho also rubs me the wrong way. I was just about to mention Carlos Mencia! God, I can't stand that guy! I believe a MySpace blog of mine sums up my feelings nicely (censored for this board): "F*** this guy! F*** him with a capital F-*-*-*. He's not funny. He's the anti-funny. For instance, let's just say you were throwing a party. Everybody's laughing, joking, having a good time. Then, out of nowhere, Mencia shows up and opens his mouth. The laughter instantly stops and all your friends have either terminal cancer or full-blown AIDS...and your puppy dies. That's how anti-funny he is. 'Boy, Mexicans are sure lazy. And why do Blacks like Watermelon?' Shut up, Carlos. That's not funny; it's just shock value, and poorly-done at that...the kind of s*** you hear on a daily basis when you're in high school. So quit titling your comedy albums s*** like "Take a Joke, America" because 1) Your act is so commonplace that it offends nobody, and 2) you need to MAKE a joke before I can take it...hack." Oh, and as Joe Rogan once pointed out, he steals other comedians' material. Not cool, Jerkweed.

I think everyone has covered the worst of the worst already! The success of Larry the Cable Guy, Carlos Mencia, Bill Engvall and Jeff Dunham absolutley confounds me! None of these people have EVER made me laugh. Although Larry the Cable Guy and Carlos Mencia actually have acts that literally make me cringe. Engvall and Dunham just aren't funny, but they're a lot more tolerable than Larry and Carlos.
For me, comedians that like to SCREAM their punchlines (i.e. Mencia) usually turn me off from the get-go. Also, comedians who habitually laugh at their own material (see all of the above) tend to turn me off, too.

Lampineli I agree with, Dane Cook (Lets just say random words and gesture wildy... that'll suffice for humor).
Anyone who just screams insults at the top their lungs and then laughs at their own idiocy (i'll take heat for this, but the holy one Sam Kinnesson isn't funny to me, it's mostly,..."YOUR A WHORE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" - uh yeah, uh Sam, did you ever tell any actual jokes?)
