I don't know about everyone else, especially if you were on the losing end of it, but I have been loving the return of 80s style hockey lately! These high scoring games are a ton of fun.

Well, our season's not going so well. We're barely a .500 team. We don't have a goalie. Our franchise player hurt his fingers in a "snowblower mishap".
But at least for one night, in Detroit, we beat the arrogant smug evil frickin' mighty Red Wings (who, according to the word on the street, suck).

In some ways that hurts worse than sucking really bad because high hopes won't completely fade away.

Columbus has been a frustrating team all year. It seems like they might be getting the ship righted but who knows. Everytime they go out there and win a couple they just lose a couple right afterwards and it's back to where they were at a few weeks ago.

Not many can make that statement so far this season.

Very true. It's part of the frustration with them though. They go out there and show they can go toe to toe with anyone and win but then they seem to phone it in for a couple of games and stay mired in this .500 game they've been playing for the past 2 seasons.
They have a potentially great team though. They got rid of all the overpriced over the hill guys like Foote and Federov. They went out and signed proven producers like Kristian Huselius. Rookie Derick Brassard has been nothing short of amazing this year as he's trailing only Rick Nash on the team for points.
This team has the goods to be in the playoffs. They just need to stop underachieving. Hopefully the San Jose team is Columbus waking up to it's potential.

How's our boy R.J. Umberger doing with you guys? I saw him get the game winner last night. Has he been producing like he was with us?
Also, congrats Sky on seeing the Canes down the Habs. We get the same opportunity tonight. Only concern is that Biron is out with the flu. Hopefully Nitty will be able to come up big.

R.J. Umberger has been a really solid pick up so far. He has 9 goals and 6 assists so far. Solid and I would say best on reputation he's the best center on the team. Derick Brassard is playing better but I need to see him keep up his production a little longer.

I plan on going to the Columbus-Pitts game on Jan. 13th to hit up Columbus' student rush deal. Hopefully it will be a goodie!
And I'm going to the Pens/Leafs game Saturday night! W00t w00t!

Last night was the perfect example of the frustration of being a Blue Jackets fan. They went out the night before and beat a really good team. Then they come out the next night and lose to a mediocre team like Dallas. It's why I go from having hope to giving up over and over again every season.

Canes take on the Bruins today. I'm predicting a massacre. And not in our favor. I hope I'm wrong.

My friend Dan scored tickets for the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field for the Hawks-Wings game. He's invited me, so hopefully I can go.
