AND WHAT ABOUT SCARECROW'S BRAIN!
He, he Good points Mr. A - I might add, Claire's dad has Sylar in his sights at the end of the last ep. All he has to do is pull the trigger. Instead he waits until after the two have sex before he makes his move? That was very polite of him but seriously, take your shot... or if you do wait, wait until they're in the middle of it. At that point you'd have the advatage, 2 quick shots before they can react and it's over.

So why doesn't he, you know, touch himself? He can't do that on television.

I know we could have a lot of fun pointing out plot holes all day. The show is based on plot holes.
But Claire's escape from the hospital is really bugging me. So let's say the hospital (and police) thinks she's dead. When they can't find the body, where are they going to start looking? With Mrs. Bennett! Admissions would know her name and address. How is it that they just mosey on home and hang out there until daddy and Sylar show up?
Or let's say the hospital knows about Claire's resurrection...I don't even need to finish that thought.
Just lazy, careless writing. You can't set up jeopardy like that and then pretend it wasn't there. They didn't even use a deus ex machina to get out of it (and let's face it, the show has about a dozen deus ex machinae at it's disposal). Awful.

This is the kind of stuff that used to go through my head when I was a kid watching Superman or monster movies. I saw Hancock last night (pretty good, btw), and a lot of those questions got answered-in a way-for me. Anyway...implausible as some things may get, I'm still having a good time watching this weekly graphic novel. The imagery continues to blow me away (although it is quite dark-hard to see-at times), and I'm throwing away my disbelief at every turn; and I don't seem to be having a problem with that. I will admit, the first thing that went through my mind when Claire awoke was, "Okay, how are they gonna explain this?" Then I forgot about it...I guess. I don't know, it's just a comic. I agree about the stuff with Seth Green's on again/off again knowledge. I got a bigger kick last week when Hiro said, (and I'm paraphrasing here) "We're in luck! It's Wednesday!" I already knew what he meant before he said, "New Comic Day!" . I like those inside nods to the fans. Fun stuff. Anyway...bring on the battle!

Wow! That was cool! Peter's still a jerk... Is Arthur really dead?...and, what left him, and where did it go? The Hiro story touched me deeply, and made me miss my mommy. A lot of Ali Larter, can't go wrong there... So...is Sgt Scott gonna be our next hero...or our next victim? Looks like we got the old Sylar back. Can't wait for next week. EDIT: Okay, maybe I overreacted about Peter, he's not a jerk...just the wrong man for the job....namely killing his father. Oh, and I'm falling in love with Daphne.

Gotta admit, this is the first episode in a while where I went back and rewatched a few parts because of how much I enjoyed them. Say what you want about the storyline and the plot holes, but there was some good stuff this week. Some thoughts: * Hiro and his mother. The 10-year-old Hiro thing was getting old, but this little side story really hit me hard. Masi Oka delivers the best acting on the show since Company Man in this very sad story. I lost my mother a year ago last September, and the moment after she fixes his memory and he remembers how much he misses her, well, it wasn't easy to take. And then that SOB Arthur shows up and ruins his plans. Lots of emotional ups and downs, and I really enjoyed them. * Also great was Claire and her run-in with her parents. I knew HRG wasn't going to buy that "Bonnie," bit and was wondering what was going to happen. Still, it looked like HRG may just have recognized "Claire Bear" before hanging up on The Company. Not as good as Hiro's big scene, but still well done. * Peter vs. Arthur. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Peter having all his powers. Still, it was a fairly decent showdown, and I loved Sylar coming in and finishing off the dirty work. My only complaint is they introduced that office worker lady strictly for him to gain the "lie detector" power. But as soon as he used it to ask about their relationship, all I could think of was how Arthur's comment to Hiro suddenly got turned around: "You're a dead man." Or so it seems, anyway * Speaking of Sylar, I like him as a classic badass. And with Arthur gone, it looks like he's the most powerful single character on the show. * I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Poor Elle. Bell delivered some really nice performances, too bad they couldn't figure out exactly what to do with her on the show. * The chair-throwing bit aside, I loved the ending and the marine's answer about how he felt. "I feel good." His delivery, the look on his face, and the clever music device they use at that point really ended the episode on a strong note. * I didn't mind the bit with Sylar in the elevator, but the "ohh, cake" bit at the office was a little silly. * I miss Isaac Mendez, too. There was something about looking at his paintings in the first season that had a very haunted quality to it, and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Matt, Daphne and Ando to page through the sketchbook. And I agree, Change. Daphne is adorable. And a good person Next week is the last episode of 2008, but thankfully it doesn't seem like it will be gone too long. Remember that freaking long layoff during the first season? I don't think I could take another one of those.

Well, that was a great end to the season. I apparently forgot to comment last week I liked that episode, particularly its ending, and I thought this one really built off of it well. I especially liked the face-off between the puppet master (I can never remember his name) and Sylar - for a minute, I was in awe of that guy's power, but it was only a sham on Sylar's part. The one big question remaining to me is why Nathan is so villainous again. I liked how his character went from basically a douche early in the first season to a sympathetic hero in season two, and I liked how his story started in this season. It seems like he will make for a good character in the vein of his parents and their devious ways, but I thought he had turned good. Oh well. I thought it was a very good ending to a mostly enjoyable season. Overall, the tone of the show shifted somewhat from previous years, but it was something I still had a blast watching. With the exception of a couple of episodes, I thought this season was also pretty consistent in quality. Can't wait until the MONDAY AFTER THE SUPER BOWL.

Yeah that jarring shift in personality has marred this season. I can suspend some belief but when it is so abrupt it takes me out of the show. And it’s not just Nathan suddenly going from, lets go get the Haitian and stop father, to –oop, now I’m suddenly going to go into a-hole mode! But others as well (Elle having the most roller coaster personality)
We know Nathan has that side to him, but for them to smoothly show him grow into a decent man at heart over the years, to a villain in the blink of an eye is simply bad writing.
Saying that and despite some of Sylar’s hackneyed dialog this was a really good episode and after weeks of apathy, I’m back in the fold. It was a lot of fun, good humor (Pikacu? –smack!) good action and pacing. Nice scary stalker moments with Sylar (so is he dead, did he burn to ashes?) nice cat and mouse moments and a convincing end to that side of the story.
The Peter/Nathan/Sursh part was a bit contrived but decent enough. Solid finish to the storyline overall.

Not too bad. I agree some of Sylar's dialog was a little stilted and force during the hunt at Primatech, but he's still a commanding force when it comes holding the viewer's attention. Some quick thoughts: * Soldier boy died in a big hurry, didn't he? He looked like he was going to be a pretty rough customer last episode, but Knox made quick work of him. Then Tracey made quick work of Knox. Then Sylar made quick work of, well, pretty much everyone else at Level 5. We're getting back to our core characters again. * The Ando as a power booster thing was pretty cool. I really liked how it showed what happened to Daphne the first time he touched her. She's such a great little character. Although I'm still not sure how she managed to move forward in time after she and Ando rescued Hiro. * Nathan is a lowlife, but I also agree his personality did a fast flip on itself. After chiding Angela about what Primatech did to him the others, he seems to have come to terms with artificial powers pretty quickly. * Peter told the Haitian to go after Sylar last episode, but he was nowhere to be found this week. Why does that seem to happen a lot? * I like Peter with powers, and I'm hoping the injection gives him his absorbing powers again, not just flight. And Hiro needs to get his powers back, as well. He's just not the same without them. * Nathan talking to the president rings of Marvel's Civil War and the X-Tinction Agenda storylines, doesn't it? As long as they do it as well, I have no problem with that All in all, not a bad first half to the season. They stepped it up a bit in the later episodes which helped tremendously. Anxious to see where they take it in 2009.

Although I'm still not sure how she managed to move forward in time after she and Ando rescued Hiro. She ran backwards. P.S. I had to laugh when I saw Michael Dorn was in the show and who he played.

Gawd please don't mention Marvel's Civil War - Damn thing single handedly ruined Marvel comics for me (well that and Spider-Man making a deal with the devil) - If Heroes gets that depressing I'm done with it.

Although I'm still not sure how she managed to move forward in time after she and Ando rescued Hiro. She ran backwards. That's an excellent Heroes explanation And I'll admit, I was going by some of the critical praise I had heard for Civil War - I haven't read it. I did like X-Tinction Agenda, though. I was a bigger comic reader in the 90s.

If you want post 9/11 fear forced down your throat. Tony Stark becoming a pure a-hole and not resembling anything like a hero (Betrays She Hulk, is behind Arachne losing her child, Clones Thor behind his back when the God wont play ball, and that clone murders someone) and of course, the funderful moment when Steve Rogers (Cap Amercia) takes a bullet in the head... then yeah Civil War was just peachy! I agree with Dan Slott (Who once wrote She Hulk) Marvel has forgotten how to have fun. But, aside from that I get your point. It does resemble both storylines.

I just realized the show's starting up again tonight. Even with the personality shifts and hand-wavy explanations for some plot points, I loved watching the first half of the season, and I'm really looking forward to this half. I forget whatever the teaser showed for this season, so I'll be starting it with an open mind.
