So it looks like the main plot of this arc is that the big, bad government (with the help of someone with powers) is going to round up and incarcerate all people with powers. So they team up and fight back.
Isn't that the plot to every X-Men ever?

I think they've given up pretending that they're not blatantly ripping off X-Men. And I don't blame them. They're desperate. The ratings have TANKED and this is their last chance before they get the axe.

An interesting start. I liked seeing people trying to get back to their regular lives, even though that would seem impossible with all the characters have been through. There's plenty of nonsense, sure. And weak storytelling, yeah. But darn if the people aren't pretty and it passes a Monday night. Very quick: * Looks like Peter can only absorb through touch now. Keeps him powerful without letting it get out of control too fast. * The Ando/Hiro helmet/GPS/motorcyle thing was downright weird. I kept thinking of Street Hawk. Give Hiro his powers back and get these guys back in the game. * I liked the idea that the ability to draw/paint the future is something that can be "learned" as Matt began to do. Really hoping that's not just a plot device but that they really start to explore just what all these powers are about. I agree they know they're not fooling anyone about ripping off many stories. Look at the teaser for next week. It starts with a plane crash and none of their lives will ever be the same. Gotta admit, I laughed at that

So what in modern media is wholly originally, or doesn't draw inspiration from something else? Yes Heroes is doing it more blatantly but as long as it entertains.
Saying that, it does depress me a bit. I'm a rather simple man, I want my superheroes to fight super villains. The whole Government hunting down super folks always makes me a bit depressed -- BUT -- it is the direction this show has pointed toward since episode one. With Nathan doing some form of just what he's doing.
I liked the Ando/Hiro thing. It cracked me up. It's pure Hiro and it's nice to have a guy whose a true comic geek, living the dream.
Nice to see Claire pro active and I hope these folks band together and kick Nathan's butt.
Sylar. How will he fit in? Right now he's a thorn in the Gov plans and that makes me happy. It was nice to see one of these folks be in control and dole out some hurtin'
All told it is drawing quite obviously from several sources, it's not a work of art but I did find it intriguing and exciting. First ep in I was riveted to the screen. Now lets see if they can keep that going to the end (unlike the first half of this season which lost me mid way through)
Magneto? Cerebro?

I just like having my living comic book back. It's fun, it entertains, and I don't have to worry about baggin' and boardin' it.

I enjoyed the episode pretty well, and yes, I noticed that it was similar to X-men too. One thing that I liked was that they actually showed the agents rounding up the people with powers, chaining them up in hoods and masks and all. It suddenly seemed more serious than talking about legislation to do so, or having some unstable villains locked downstairs in the paper factory.
Of course, it seems like they're having all of them escape right away, but we'll see what happens with this transport plane crash scenario.
I'm liking Ando and Hiro's roles once again, but I'm getting tired of Claire. If she'd actually accomplish something, maybe I'd feel differently. It seems like the same scenario of people trying to keep her out of the way, her getting angry and overhearing evil plans, and then taking off to FIGHT THE BADGUYS and ultimately getting caught has happened several times. Oh well.
Sylar's scenes were the best in the episode, I think. Interesting to see him fumble around trying to find out more about his past, but also great to see him actually fight back against the government agents.

Made me wonder when my turn would be up. As far as them 'ripping-off' the X-Men...fine, I always wanted an X-Man TV show.

Oh well. You right. I think I've said the proactive thing before, but you nail it, every time she does try to do something, she just gets caught. It was nice that she freed everyone this time out so I guess that's what I liked for a change. She has become a broken record, Captain America needs to train her in hand to hand combat or maybe she should just watch Python's "How not to be seen" skit.

Did she really have a purpose? Parkman didn't look too bent out of shape about it. I missed something. Whatever happened to Molly?
PS - Claire always looks like her face hurts.

I still enjoy the show. No matter how many holes there are, and no matter how badly they handle the time travel or deaths. It's dumb fun.
But if I have to watch one more scene with Claire pouting and Noah telling her how hard he's working to protect the family, I'm going to be sick. Have those two ever had any scene together that didn't play that same note?
I was excited in the first show of this story that they were on very opposite sides of this one. I thought, "Finally! Claire and HRG get to do something different for a change." Then, in episode 2, they have yet another talk, and it's all back to the same old crap.

So true, so true my friend. That is long past old.
And I'm pissed at Daphne's death. Parkman seemed beat up to me, he wants to kill 'em all now.
I think it's starting to tax my patience a bit. They get me excited at the start but then travel down the same well worn path. I get bored prety quick with TV and to be honest, the Government going after people always depresses me and this ep depressed me.
At least Magneto (Sylar) finally found his Mistique (thank God the kid wears clothes though) - Now go form the brotherhood of evil mutants and blow some stuff up damn it. I'm getting tired and cranky with all this soap opera crap!

Agreed on both, starting with I enjoy the show. * I'm still waiting for the HRG/Claire dynamic to really change, but it hasn't, and they're light years away from where they started at the beginning of the series. * Even though his storyline has jumped around as much as other characters', Sylar still gets the most bang for the buck with his scenes. The tension is always there. They still haven't come up with a better villain, and that's fine with me. * I liked Daphne.

I haven’t watched an ep in a while and frankly I haven’t missed it. BUT – I heard Bryan Fuller was returning for an episode. He not only was one of the minds behind my favorite short lived show “Wonderfalls”, but he wrote some of the best Heroes eps from season 1, including Company Man.
I don’t know what his involvement will be for the remainder of the year but man, they need to lock this guy down. This is the best episode in a long time. Crisp writing in quickly evident throughout. Hiro and Ando are hilarious and acting like friends again, Tracy is bad ass cool (and freaky) and the Matt Parkman/Daphne thing has never been written more real and heartfelt. There was tension, nice character development…
If you’ve dropped this series as I did, go to NBCs site and watch Cold Snap, it’s a refreshing return to form for the show
