Sci-Fi needs to get it through their heads, MST got ratings. Yes, they got smaller and smaller, but that's becuase THERE AREN'T ANY NEW EPISODES!!!!!! If they made new episodes, at least 20,000 fans will be watching, and millions of the casual viewers curious of what the hell those robots in theater seats are on the TV. Do you have hard figures to support this? I'm not doubting it, I've just never seen any ratings on the Sci Fi showings. But I think comments like this may be overlooking one thing. Do we know if BBI wanted to extend the Sci Fi contract?

Everyone we've interviewed said they'd like to do the show again, except Kevin Murphy. And he said he'd consider it. Oh I didn't mean new shows, I meant the Sci Fi reruns. Do we know if BBI wanted those to continue. It's possible they couldn't do new shows with another network while the exclusive contract with Sci Fi was in effect.

Sci-fi shows sequels to once successful movies in an endless loop.

Even though everyone that's been interviewed says that they'd like to do the show again (w/the possible exception of our man Murphy), those wouldn't really be the people behind it. In nearly all of the chat-interviews that I can remember from the sci-fi era, for instance, Mike Nelson would point out that he was just an employee for BBI and that he had no true administrative control over it.
But they cancelled new MST3K episodes when Sci-Fi picked up the X-Files? I hadn't heard that one before....do those time periods even work out? Hmmmm....
