I was watching some repeats. They made a bit of an error in "Utopia" when Jack finally finds The Doctor (with Martha). Of course, at the time, they didn't know it was an error, because they probably hadn't made the decision yet but: They made Jack The Face of Boe, but Martha actually mentions The Face of Boe in this episode. Now, wouldn't Jack say, "Hang on. That's what they used to call ME."

There's a lot of reasons he might not have mentioned it because of an off hand comment. If it had come up a bunch of times and he never mentioned it, that would be a problem.

But, he does say, I forget in which episode, "The Face of Boe, they called me." Now, if someone said, I forget Martha's exact words in Utopia, but she said to The Doctor, "Remember what The Face of Boe told you" (when they realized Professor Yana was a Timelord) "that you were not alone".
I think Jack would've done a double take on that and said, "Hang on - WHO?" If someone brings up a nickname that is specific to you, I think you take notice. So, I'm just guessing they hadn't made the decision to make Jack The Face of Boe yet, and just sort of forgot it was mentioned so specifically in front of him in that episode.
Also: About River: I didn't watch all the Matt Smith episodes, but didn't he not know who she was? If he met her as #10, why didn't he remember her? And she said something about him taking her to that planet with the singing towers (in this past Christmas episode) in either a Smith or a Tennant episode, I think Smith, so why didn't SHE remember #12's face? And she acts like they were really involved seriously, (like saying she's a loud yeller, or something, then saying he'll find out about that, wink wink) but whenever we see The Doctor with her, it's not really passionate or anything. So exactly which incarnation is it that is involved with her in that way? And this past episode was kind of her end run, right? Because after they go to this planet, she goes back to 10 and dies in that library, right? Maybe something happens in the 26 year day or however long that was that she's with 12. I don't know. I just don't really get the whole River timeline.

Tom Riley from Da Vinci's Demons should be the next Doctor after Capaldi. (And that would be a FANTASTIC pairing if they brought Jack back).
Edit: Heh. Didn't know he'd already been on the show as Robin Hood.

i have no idea who i'd want to be the next doctor to be honest. i was surprised they picked an older Doctor to begin with but he's i think a good doctor. anyways i've been watching classic Who recently. i still got a poopie load of them left to buy. i have #78 and i still got another #60 left to go. having said that i got some recently and i watched recently The Mind Robber a favorite, Inferno another favorite and my Favorite Pertwee story and another favorite Terror of the Autons. i'm currently on The Curse of Peladon which may not be one of my favorites but it's a decent story.

Wasn't really impressed with the super hero story. (And it wasn't very Christmas-y). Saw the trailer for the upcoming shows. Not sure about this new companion. Hope she grows on me. Jack better make an appearance, dammit!

Capaldi is leaving after this season. Still think Tom Riley would make a good Doctor.
Here he is in Da Vinci's Demons:
Also: I wonder how that spinoff show will be? Class is it called?

Just a thought. The Doctor does seem to have one superpower. People trust him. How many episodes does he come in and just automatically take charge. Fyi He asks a police officer what is going on and they just tell him everything. I really don't think that police do that in real life with a complete stranger. People just automatically trust him.

It's my understanding we're getting a multi-Master story.

That was a pretty nothing episode. (Thin Ice). They are truly running out of ideas.
