This may be grumpy, middled-aged me but I find myself annoyed/on red alert when I'm out/running out of Diet Coke, peanut butter and bread. The fridge could otherwise be entirely empty but as long as I've got these 3 things I'm okay lol
I remember my father was this way about milk. We'd be down to the last gallon and he'd say "we'd better get to the store soon" lol
Anyone else have any similar "red alert" things they hate to be low on/without?

Beer, porn and pizza rolls.
I'm not sure why I keep porn in the fridge.
Seriously, I can't think of anything. I like to have things to nibble on when I watch a DVD or read, but nothing specific, nothing "must have" or else. Strangely, the older I get the less I like food. It's now become something I have to do to stay alive, but there's little I really go nuts for other than (going out to) the China Dragon... that's my final food refuge.

Heineken, at that's more of a major emergency.

A book whenever I go somewhere, and soda in the fridge at home.
Toilet paper is also very highly required.

Blow Pops/Tootsie Pops. I carry them in my backpack and purse, cause I'm a bit of an addict.
Oh, and notebooks. Whenever I get low on notebooks, I have to make a trip to the store to restock. I don't keep them in my fridge, though...

Dr. Pepper. God help the world if I run out of Dr. Pepper.

Altoids. I'm sometimes up to a pack a day, yet I never (rarely ever!) buy more than two tins at the grocery store. This has necessitated many gas station runs to buy them at 100% markup.

Diet Coke, like Shep. Or anything caffeinated, carbonated, and sugar-free.

Coffee and milk for cereal. I can't survive without these two in the fridge.

I wouldn't call that a 'minor' emergency.
