I saw it on DVD at Media Play for $8 or something cheap like that. I heard its quite hilariously bad, should I buy it?

Hell yes you should!
I need to go hit up some of these stores in my area for un-mstied versions. The prices look to good to pass up.

Good Lord, Yes man! While I disagree with those that say that it's the worst film ever made, it is quite cheesy. I just wish that Bela hadn't died when he did.

As MSTies know there are far worse movies. Plan 9 is fun, how could it be the worst?

As MSTies know there are far worse movies. Plan 9 is fun, how could it be the worst? I've always wondered that. Plan 9 is alot of fun! I could probably recite it line for line. Criswell's opening and closing lines are worth the price of the tape. I mean, hey, can your mind stand the shocking truth? I've probably bought and worn out a dozen copies of this gem of a flick!

Yeah, this is a must purchase for any fan of MST3K. I think it should be a must-buy for any fan of comedy, science fiction, or just plain fun stuff.

Wow, I guess I should be getting it then. Unfortunately, I just blew the remainder of my disposable income on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast vol. 1 on DVD.
I'll just have to wait a week and a half to get more money. I'll pick it up though, it's supposed to be a funny movie.

Buy it as soon as you get more income.
I dunno. I personally think that it's still the worst. It's just so horribly done that the Director acheived high hilarity, which is the exact negative of the horror that he was going for.
I mean, you can't get much worse than that. At least Manos still left me feeling apathetic, which is an emptiness, which could potentially result after horror.
I guess it depends on your definition of "worst," though....

The Beast of Yucca Flats is clearly worse that Plan 9. As is The Deadly Hand - John Agar Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle Of Death - Shannon Tweed 1988 Redneck Zombies -1987 Vampire Men of the Lost Planet - John Carradine 1970 the list of badness is endless. And, yes, it all depends on your definition of "worst". One good thing, as long as we all have our own definition of "worst" then we shall never run out of bad, cheesy, horribly directed movies. Hikeeba!!

Plan 9 wasn't all that funny. But some parts were just dumb.

I don't know, I measure a movie's badness by how painful it is to watch. If its unintentionally hilarious, its better than a movie thats unintentionally boring.
So PRINCE OF SPACE is a far better movie than MANOS because its unintentionally funny.
Being campy makes a movie more watchable too.
