Chilli's isn't really known to be gourmet or anything, but I do like the southwest egg rolls. Had some the other day.

I watched a video on YouTube of someone doing a time lapse of food breaking down and rotting. They put a side by side comparison of a hamburger from a fast food joint and one that was made of organic, fresh ingredients.
The fresh one broke down pretty quickly and started rotting and getting mold and whatnot. The fast food one stayed pretty much the SAME for quite a long stretch. Even mold wasn't touching that stink burger. Yuck. It's pretty sad to believe what we put into our bodies. Imagine all the preservatives that must be in that thing?
And yet, I'll probably still go to McDonald's at some point, or some other place and have a damn burger.
No wonder there's an obesity epidemic and health issues in our culture. Our bodies don't know what to do with that stuff.

The food court at the mall nearest to me had a Panda Express and a (I forget the name of the...) Japanese, uh, restaurant? Kiosk? What do you call the open booths with food in them at food courts, heh? Just by their name, I guess - Orange Julius, Cinnabon, Sbarro's.
Anyway, that was quite a few years ago, and when the mall did a revamp of everything, the food court moved to a different location and now they have different companies for the Chinese and Japanese food, no longer Panda Express and whatever the Japanese one was called. I loved the food they had. I used to get the Terryaki chicken at the Japanese place and I really enjoyed the orange chicken and Kung Pao chicken combo with fried rice at Panda Express, it was so good. I was missing it, which is what made me think of this.
The ones at the mall now aren't as good; the food always tastes tough and like it's been sitting around too long (which I guess it has).
The nearest Panda Express to me now is off the highway at a rest stop, and it's just not the same, the food doesn't taste good there like at the other one.
I want that orange chicken and Kung Pao chicken, dammit! No other place makes it as good as that old PanEx.
What I also miss: The mall used to have an Arthur Treacher's at the front of the parking lot, by the road, that's no longer there. Used to love the chicken and chips.
What made me think of this? Who knows. Just loved that orange chicken.

Whenever I make pancakes at home, they come out light and fluffy and I can eat a whole stack of them (unfortunately). When I go to a restaurant and have them, they invariably end up being very heavy and suck up all the syrup in a minute and I have to keep adding more. What's up with restaurant pancakes? I can only eat like ONE of those, they're so heavy.
So, once in a while I'll try pancakes when I'm out, hoping they'll be lighter, but when I eat breakfast out, I usually just get eggs.

Just made some macaroni salad for tomorrow and it turned out pretty tasty if I do say so myself. I'm having a small dish of it now.
Whenever I make it, if I have jarred pickles in the fridge, I'll add some of the juice from the jar to the mayo mix I concoct. Also, if I have a jar of pepperoncini, I'll add the juice from that jar as well. Instant, no-work flavor.

My mom, sis and I went to a restaurant last week and one of the appetizers they had were pumpkin deviled eggs. They were so good.

Not eating, but drinking: You know how when you make hot cocoa you add a little milk to cool it off a bit and make it more creamy? I'm having some hot cocoa now, and I added egg nog instead. Tastes pretty darn good, actually.

This is the cake I'm bringing to my sister's tomorrow for Christmas. Heh, heh. Don't judge. I tried. The "tree" didn't really come out like artwork. Maybe a Picasso. It's white cake with chocolate frosting - I used food coloring so one layer is red and the other is green.
